Thursday June 9th Scott and I went to the temple to do initiatory work for the family names that Kacie just did baptisms for yesterday. On our way to the temple we were looking at the names and I didn't realize that we were doing work for Wanda's Mom and Dad. Her dad left them when she was 6 years old, but I knew her mother really well.
I have not done initiatory work since I went through the temple the first time almost 22 years ago. It was extra special to be reminded of all those special blessings plus being able to see the face in my mind of Wanda's mother Violet. I didn't know the others, but it was a little hard to hold back the tears. I know Wanda was so happy that the work was being done and completed by her own family. She said it was nice to have something to bring her so much joy after just having knee surgery.
