XC and More

We had an interesting night on Sept 12th when our neighbors finally got busted for their illegal medical marijuana operation.  I was taking Kacie to mutual and while I was stopped at the bottom of the hill a sheriff's car, a huge black armory truck with men hanging off the back in full body gear and then two more civilian car with more officers.  It was pretty airy as they starred me down as they pasted by.  I called Scott and told him I thought the drug bust was happening.  He went out with his binoculars and watched it all go down.  He said he could hear the officers with their AK47s yelling at them to get down on the ground.  I felt bad for the kids that they had sitting on their trampoline and for Grandma Joan that was left for the poor house that they trashed.  At midnight it was still going on.  They had to bring in three uhaul trucks to remove all the marijuana.  We were so glad to finally have these people gone forever.   We were told later that they had a 300k operation going on but interesting how they went 10 months without making a house payment to Grandma.
Kacie running at the Catherine Creek Scamper Sept 14th.  They sure getting dirty, but at least she didn't lose her shoes in the mud hole.  Below she is pictured with Kaitlyn Houston.  I was glad Buffy was there to take pictures.

Brady's Primary Program

Brady had his Primary Sacrament Program Sept 23rd.  I was so proud of him.  He did such a good job and memorized his part so well and sang all the songs.  When they had their first practise he tried to say he didn't know it but luckily since Scott and I teach the 4&5 year olds, I was able to remind him that he knew it and he did it.  For his part we had to come up with how he is preparing to be baptized.  This is what we came up with:

"I am preparing to be baptized by trying to be like Jesus.  I'm trying to love as He did, in all that I do and say.  I am trying to learn about His life and example by going to church, reading the scriptures and saying my prayers.  I know if I try to keep His commandments and be baptized, I can live with Him someday."

He said it with his eyes closed, but he did it!

Kacie's XC Sept 8th

ROGER CURRAN INVITATIONAL!

It was so cool that they let Chris Yost run in front of Taylor so she would know where to go.  I think it really helped her.  She did good and got 18th place with a time of 16:10
Kacie...
Mallory...
Kacie...
Jocey's last race and she got 10th! She is going to start gymnastics four days a week in Nampa.
Taylor
Kacie going for the home stretch.  We were both happy she didn't come in last and she improved her time by almost 3 minutes from last year at this race at 19:44.  I am so proud of her for sticking it out and continuing to try.  I know this has not been easy for her.
Brittany got 20th and Brooke got 4th for Eagle High.
It was so nice of them to stay and watch Kacie and Taylor run.

So glad Kacie has such good friends.
Kacie and Taylor

After the meet all the XC kids went to Roaring Springs.  Stacie took her kids and invited Brady to go too.  So Mom and I did a little shopping and then we went to a movie...Hope Springs.  It was fun and so nice to be at a movie and not have to chase after kids.  It was a fun day.

Brady's School Party Sept 7th

I made these angry bird cake pops for Brady's party at school.  The 2nd grade teachers decided to have one big birthday party for all the kids for the year and then just acknowledge them on a smaller scale on their actual birthday.  I was planning on making these on his upcoming birthday so I just got it done early which will help with the stress coming up on Oct 5th.

I really like Brady's class.  There are some cute kids in there!
Talk about giving kids a sugar high...they defiantly got it today!

The kids loved the cake pops!
We love Mrs. Moats (Brunell) our Special Ed teacher.  She has been so good to Brady and Brandon!

Friday night we enjoyed some good High School Football.  Tyler plays for Baker and they beat Payette 56 to 14.  It was fun but stressful knowing that Gerald was in the hospital getting tests.  They discovered that he had pneumonia and a partially collapsed lung.  But they were able to give him some antibiotics and sent him home.  We were so relieved it wasn't his heart even though pneumonia is scary too.

Guardianship Hearing Sept 6th

I copied this from Mom's facebook wall that she posted the morning of the hearing...

"It is unbelievable to me that parents of special needs children have to petition the court for guardianship after that child reaches the age of 18. To me (once again) the government has it backwards. The parents should automatically be their guardian FOREVER unless they petition the court to be removed as such. We are going with Tammy and Scott to court today so that they may continue being Brandon's legal guardians... We are SO excited to see Brandon, but frustrated with the process and government paperwork... They are not only required to pay for their attorney but for Brandon's as well... crazy..."

Well it was short and sweet.  The judge was really nice, his name was Christopher Bieter.  Scott wondered if he is the brother to the Boise mayor Dave Bieter.  He sure looks like him.  Anyways he was amazed and surprised by all the family support for Brandon and that five of us were wanting and able to be guardians for him and that we could all get along in the process.  He said he sees a lot of sad and upsetting things in his line of work and he was happy to witness something positive.  Rosie was able to attend via conference call.  I wanted to make sure that if anything ever happened to Scott and I Brandon would be well taken care of.  And besides who would want to go through this all over again.  We have only been working on it since January of this year.  I too am so grateful for such a wonderful and supporting family.  What would I ever do without them!

After the hearing we took Brandon to Cafe Rio for lunch.  While Brandon and I were waiting for our food "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac came on and he started singing.  He made quite the impression with the others around us eating.  They got a kick out of it.  It was fine and good until he started throwing out the four letter words.  After we took Brandon back to his home Scott finally decided to get a new cell phone...the Samsung Galaxy sIII.  It's huge, but I think he is really going to like it especially with his old eyes. Haha

I got the Guardian Ad Litem bill on Monday which was Brandon's attorney John Lerma.  It was only $1,164.00.  Our attorney was Michelle Finch and we haven't got the damage from her yet.

Labor Day Weekend

Friday Aug 31 Brady went with me to work while Scott took Kacie to the Eye Doctor.  Yep she now has contacts and glasses.  Takes after me, I had to get glasses when I was in Middle School too!  I really like her glasses I'll have to get a picture later.

We had quite the day at work and took in a lot of cash.
Saturday we took the kids with us to Boise for our Anniversary.  We went to my favorite Cafe Rio and then to Subzero.  I had German chocolate ice cream.  I couldn't believe how it tasted like the real thing with the coconut, pecans and brownie bits.  It's so fun because they make the ice cream to order.  Brady had vanilla with sprinkles and white chocolate chips.  Scott had orange vanilla and Kacie had mint chocolate chip.  So good!
After church Steve took some pictures of Brady for me and so we got a couple of group shots.  We are just missing Brandon :(

Sunday Kacie had fun catching up with her cousins.  I can't believe how they have all grown up!

Monday Scott went fishing with his brothers.  These two pictures crack me up...so proud of his little bass, lol!

Drive In (Aug 24)

A bunch of us decided to go to the Drive-In.  Kacie was having a sleepover at Jocey's and they all decided to go too!  When I picked them up Allie was primping all the girls.  They all looked really cute, actually too cute for a Drive In!

 Madi, Jocey, Mallory & Kacie
Brady had to watch with Tommy, Tara, Howie and Olivia.
Even Barbara brought Sheree's kids...Ely, Evelyn and Briggs!
We watched Ice Age, Continental Drift and only the girls, Brady and I stayed for Step Up Revolution.  Brady slept through most of it.
 Teniele, James and Joshua
It was fun! I don't know why we don't do it more often.
