Our Veteran's Day Adventure...

Brady really wanted to go on another adventure so today we went out to find the Honeycombs past Three Fingers Rock.  It was a beautiful day but it was really hazy so it was hard to get good pictures.
We stopped for a little bit at Succor Creek.  Brady and Scott had fun feeding the fish in the creek.  They must have been hungry because they went for anything that was thrown at them.

 We love it out here.
That rock is so beautiful to see out in the middle of the desert.

Scott thinks this is about where he got shot 35 years ago when he was nine years old.  He said it still creeps him out.  It is amazing that he even lived through that being how far out they were.  He said his Grandma Phyllis drove them while his mom held on to him.  He remembered this one steep part where Ron had to put their scout into 4-wheel drive so they could get out and he also had to navigate for them.  Pretty amazing since he was only seven.  I just can't even imagine going through that looking at Brady who is currently nine.

This was at the beginning of our four mile hike into the honeycombs.
Brady thought this grass looked like party streamers.

I love how inquisitive Brady is.

Brady is not a bad photographer.

See how the rock looks like a honeycomb.
Can't believe we hiked past that juniper tree on the horizon.
We never quite made it to the canyon of honeycombs because we were afraid of running out of daylight so we will have to try again with an earlier start.
Stopping for a little snack before we head back home.
On our way back Scott told us at this one spot that it would be our last glimpse of Three Fingers but Brady kept telling him no its not and sure enough Brady was right and we got to see it one more time.  Scott told Brady he should know better not to believe him.  Brady also impressed us with how well he could spot the deer.  Twice he saw them way before Scott did.
We were pretty excited to see this monster.
There were about 20 to 30 head of deer all together at this point.
There were some other bucks too, but nothing like this one.

Halloween 2013

Brady didn't want to bring his astronaut costume to school so he was Tom Brady, the football player.  The kids got a lot of snacks.  We made the little witch's brooms made of Reese's peanut butter cups and pretzels.
I love Andrew Enders' Duck Dynasty costume.
Scott went to Boise with Ron last night so he brought Brady's favorite...Krispy Kreme doughnuts with sprinkles.  He was so happy!  Brady looked so cute in his Astronaut costume.

We got a picture of him with his pumpkins.  He carved one at scouts and painted one at school.
Love this picture of him with Mom.

Tommy, Howie, Olivia and Liam Rushton.  Tommy cracks me up, I can't believe he did this all on his own.  Tara had to work.

I loved getting to visit with these two for a little bit.

Porter and Brady are so cute!
Brady's best friend...Lea
Brady can hardly lift up his bag it is so full. Haha!
We went to see Great Grandma for the rest of our night.  Wanda was so nice and made chili and had some pizza for us.  It was an enjoyable evening.  We never know each year if this will be our last.  She is 101 years old now and still looks amazing.

We missed hanging out with Kacie.  She went to a Halloween dance at the church and had a lot of fun.  Her and Mallory dressed up as twin cats.  They looked really cute!
