State Football...

The Harper football team did really well this year.  Scott helped out for the first time as the stats keeper.  They made it all the way to the championship game and then lost.  They were pretty sad but they have to be happy with how far they made it and luckily they have most of their players back next year.  

 

Beauty & The Beast...

It was fun to go see the kids perform the Beauty and the Beast play.  

They all did such a great job, especially Olivia as Lumeair.  She stole the show!

 

Brandon Comes Home...

It was nice to have Brandon home with us for the weekend.  

We watched a bunch of Disney movies together.

I feel really bad that we won't be able to spend Thanksgiving with him this year because of our cruise.

We had fun Facetiming Kacie for a little while.

It is always so hard when we take him back.  

I'm not sure which is worse?  When he is clinging to us or when he could care less?

 

Election & Stomach Flu...

It's finally election day.  I think we were all a little surprised by how badly Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris and became the 47th U.S. President after mounting the most momentous comeback in political history.  Four years after leaving Washington, Trump's victory defied two assassination attempts, two presidential impeachments, his criminal conviction, and many other criminal charges.  He won the electoral vote 312 to 226.  He also won the popular vote 1,770,242 (52.2%) to 1,582,860 (46.7%).  What was also surprising was that the election was pretty much decided the same day unlike the last election that went on forever and we still are unsure if it was a fair election.

I finally went to bed around midnight.  Scott however never made it to bed because he got one of the worst bouts of flu I have seen in a long time.  I don't think he left the bathroom floor all night.  He got so weak that he even fell and hit his head on the bathroom counter.  The only positive thing was that I didn't have to take him to the hospital.   The flu symptoms only lasted about 24 hours but it took him a while to get his strength back.

Work Photos & Halloween...

They had a pumpkin decorating/carving contest at work so I thought I would participate.  Unfortunately,  mine wasn't scary enough to win. haha!  I thought it was cute though. (:

They wanted to take some work photos of everyone.  I don't have the big group photo but I got some of these with Stephanie, Nately, Jennifer, and Liz.  Shortly after these were taken Jennifer quit working to take more college classes.

 

Celebrating Kaylin...

It has been a long time since we were all together, so we decided to celebrate Kaylin's birthday early. 

  I can't believe she would be 40 years old, boy how we miss her.

Reid shot a pheasant so he wanted Chad to try some so they fried it up.

It tasted like I remembered, haha!

 

Cassie Vargas' Funeral...

We were so sad to hear of Cassie's passing and extremely heartbroken for her kids and family.  There was a lot of support at her funeral and her service was so spiritual from the piano piece that Annie played to all the wonderful memories shared by her kids, Haylie Preston and Carson, her father Neill, and her brother Aaron.  I was sad I had to rush out during the closing song to make it to my hair and doctor appointment.  I did get to visit with some family during the viewing but that wasn't long enough.  Cassie will be greatly missed.
