Had a nice birthday dinner for Dad. Scott grilled some of the Halibut and Salmon that Dad caught in Alaska with Uncle Brent and Aunt Berniel. It was so yummy! I also made a yummy lemon trifle that everyone loved. It was a nice Sunday afternoon! Happy Birthday Dad! Love you!

Celebrating Gerald's Birthday
Some of us got together to celebrate Gerald's birthday. I was happy with how his cake turned out plus it tasted really good. This time I decided to try and put the chocolate mousse on the outside of the cake too and I was surprised I could even pipe with it. It was yummy!
Gerald loved the P-51D on the cake aka Big Beautiful Doll
Gerald looks pretty amazing for 73!
It is always fun when we can get together.

Jump Creek
Had another great trip to Jump Creek. This is one of Brady's favorite adventures. He loves it and it is nice to get out in the outdoors for a little bit.
Love my boys!
I sure love this girl!
This picture was taken after she got home from mutual Wed. the 17th. She didn't want to go but she had a lot of fun and was so glad she did. I have decided that she has a lot of the same social anxiety that Scott has.

Girls Camp July 9-12th
Sydney Hartley and I were the Nyssa 1st YW girl's camp leaders. Monday the 8th we went shopping for all our food and supplies. We dropped Jocey off at gymnastics and got started first at Winco. We also made stops at Costco, Target and Walmart and then another stop at Winco. Who knew that it would have ended up as an all day trip between shopping and then sorting food. I left at 7:45 and got home at 5:30.
After we got our camp set up it was time to build a fire and start putting together our foil dinners which tasted pretty yummy.
After our dinner Sydney was over our devotion. She did a great job and tied her thoughts into the ice cream the girls made. Some of the ice cream was more like a milkshake but it still pretty tasty.
A lot of our plans got changed at lunch when we had issues with our propane tank. But the girls had fun playing games with the priesthood leaders. We taught then how to play Five Crowns...it was fun! After we finally had our lunch at 4pm we did our craft which was etching Standing in Holy Places with a temple on a mirror for the girls. It was pretty time consuming but they all turned out great.
After our hike and dinner we had pedicures by candlelight. While they were soaking their feet, I talked to them about standing in holy places. I showed them some ballet shoes and said, "Always keep on your toes and dance through your life with confidence and grace." High heels were, "Always set your standards and goals high. Make a commitment to 'dig your heels' to attain them." "Like your favorite slippers, the Holy Ghost is comforting and peaceful. He will also be your companion as you listen for that still small voice." I forgot my temple shoes but I still shared, "Prepare now so that when you marry you can walk hand in hand with a righteous young man who will be a part of your eternal destination. I also shared a quote from Abraham Lincoln which said, "Be sure you put your feet in the right place then stand firm." It was a little crazy trying to do this in the dark but hopefully the girls got something out of it and enjoyed it.
After our pedicures we had a testimony meeting and then our bedtime story was given by Kaylin. I shared the book she gave us, "You Are Special" and I had her audio on my phone and played that through our Bluetooth speaker while holding the book for the girls to see the pictures. I think they really liked it. It brought a special spirit to the end of our long day. The girls had planned on staying up all night but the hike definitely wore everybody out and so they all went to bed.
This picture was taken after I saw a mouse in the van on our way home. If someone could have seen the three of us with our feet up off the floor, not sure whether to scream or laugh. It was quite the sight. Yes even Sydney had one foot on the gas and one on her seat. We laughed so hard, it was hilarious.
So the plan was to meet at the church at 10:30 and then leave by 11:30 but I think it was closer to 12:30 before we left. We got to Baker City around 1pm pacific time and we had a picnic lunch at the park and then the girls played for a little bit while we waited for some of our group to get there.

You can't see them very well, but I printed 10 quotes that we had laminated and then staked them around our camp. I thought they were cute and added a little decor. After we got our camp set up it was time to build a fire and start putting together our foil dinners which tasted pretty yummy.

The girls had fun throwing their ice cream around trying to get it to set up.
Kelsey Wilcox and Allie Hartley were our youth leaders. They did a great job!
Jon Wood and Lee Long making ice cream!
Fire building lesson
I love singing around the campfire. I put together these little songbooks which everybody really liked. It worked out really well the second night because Jana gave everybody a little flashlight with her devotion so everyone could see their books better.
Charley Hansen was our song leader and she did an amazing job.
We called her our Magical Musician.
I asked Jenna Boyer if she could make these flip flops for pictures.
She did a great job! They turned out really cute!
Every night we would read the girls a bedtime story.
I don't think these three were very happy about these pictures...but I loved them!
Wednesday morning Regan taught the girls that missed the original first aid class.
She did a good job.
It was really fun having our daughters with us.
Maddie Wilcox, Charley Hansen and Regan Hartley headed to Anthony Lakes for a day of hiking.
Our plan was to have our lunch before our hike. We still had lunch but minus the bread for the subs. I couldn't believe that we forgot the bread back at camp.
This was pretty awesome to see a bald eagle.
Allie, Jocey and Kacie
Sheila was in charge of our hike and she did a really fun Mission Impossible treasure hunt. At different stops along the way she would read clues for them to guess and then she would hand out little treasures. Some of them were gum, squirt-guns and toy sunglasses, trail-mix, socks, blow-pops and fun-size Snickers. It was awesome!
The hike was beautiful!
I was so proud of this girl for making it to the top!
Several times she wanted to quit, but she did it!
Couldn't believe we found snow!

I love this quote from Thomas S. Monson.
I gave everybody one with their flip flops and also a poem with their socks.

I liked how these certificates turned out.
Just prior to us leaving we gave out camp awards and candy bars with these wrappers on them. I also made each girl their own CD with the playlist we were listening to on our travels.
I think we had a great camp. I was surprised we were unable to get to all our activities done so we are going to have smores on a Wednesday night and make their doodle rocks and then I want to make a slideshow to share of all the pictures and video that we have.
