Scott's Buck., Brady's Artwork & 30th Class Reunion...

I was so happy for Scott getting a buck opening morning on September 29th.  Ron, Steve and Ryan were with him and they always have so much fun when they go hunting together.

I've been doing a lot of cleaning around the house and found this Calendar Brady made us back in Elementary school.  I decided I needed a picture of it so we always have this cute masterpiece.
Friday the 28th I didn't go to our class meet and greet plus the Nyssa football game because Cole came out to play Canasta with Mom and I.  That was a lot of fun.  Saturday night we had a dinner at Fiesta Guadalahara and these are the only people that made it.  We may have been a small group but we had a lot of fun catching up.  Pictured is Scott Windom, Eric Sloggett, Me, Joe Thompson and Robert Deleon.

Def Leppard/Journey Concert & Cole's Birthday...

Before the concert we had plans to eat at Texas Roadhouse and we even called ahead but because they were taking so long we ate at Costa Vida.  Mom and Dad came over with Teniele so they could eat with us and visit with Reid and Laura for a little bit since that would be the only time they could see them.  Kacie drove home from College so she could go to the concert with Cole and some of his family.  This was her first time driving alone so I was a little nervous until she got here.
Weston and Lori got tickets for his 40th birthday and because Taryn and Dedre couldn't make it we bought their tickets.  It was so fun!  Def Leppard was definitely everyone's favorite.  They sounded really good in fact I think better then when we first heard them in concert.

We all love Journey's music but their sound was kind of disappointing.  It was kind of muffled.  Still fun though.
Steve & Kris sent me this picture they took of us.
Funny we were right across from each other.
We were in section A6 Row H
These two had a blast together jumping, dancing and singing along!
Kacie said they were really close to the stage which was way cool!
They are just too cute!

Kacie found this really cute idea for Cole for his 21st birthday.  She told me what to get and I helped her put it all together since she was away at college.
Taste...chocolate kisses!
(I was pretty impressed with this tag I made.)
Smell...Cole's favorite chapstick which we finally found on Amazon since it is only sold at Christmas time!
 Sound...a bluetooth speaker!
 Sight...this adorable picture and frame!
 Touch...a handmade fleece blanket!
Cole loves the mountains and he even hit a moose a few months ago so it's kind of ironic this was the  fleece Kacie picked out. Cole's birthday is the 26th, the same day as the concert so she didn't have a chance to give him his gifts.  The next night when she gave Cole the presents,  his parents and sister were there also to see him open them.  Kacie said he really like everything espicially the blanket.  He told her he has never received such a meaningful gift and felt so loved.  I guess his sister even cried when he opened them.  I'm hoping someday get a copy of the pictures they took.

Brady's ER Trip, Kacie's Fun Weekend and Visit With Brandon...

Friday the 21st Taylor got to sing the National Anthem and she did a wonderful job.  During the game Brady kept complaining about his stomach hurting so we finally left at half-time.

After we got home I had him lay down and I was pushing on his stomach.  When I hit a bad spot he rolled over doubled up in pain and stopped breathing and then crying it hurt so bad.  I then decided her needed to go to the ER because I was worried about his appendix.  He then managed to get a bad bloody nose.  By the time I got there he looked like he came from a war scene.  Scott met us there and they said he had a fever so they gave him an IV, took some bloodwork and did a CT scan.  After waiting a couple of hours they said he just had a bad stomach virus.  That was a relief.
While we were there I snapped Kacie to let her know about Brady and I got this picture back.  I love seeing them so happy.

Cole went to visit her at College for the weekend.  They are so cute together and they had fun going out to dinner with one of his brother's and wife that live in Rexburg.  They also went to a Corn maze and watched movies at her apartment.  He was so nice to invite one of his friends to come over so Misa would have a date too.

Saturday they went to Idaho Falls and I guess they went to Dairy Queen...haha!  Cole then went home and she got a ride back to Rexburg with her roommates.

Sunday Mom, Brady and I went to see Brandon.  He was so happy it was really nice to spend a little time with him.  It was a beautiful evening at the Meridian Temple.

Loughlin's Birthday & Dad's Tests...

September 18th Harlan and Kendalee Garner invited us to Red Lobster to celebrate Loughlin's birthday.  There were several other family members and friends there as well.  I couldn't believe that they paid for everyone's dinner.  We all wrote little notes sharing memories that we had with Loughlin.  I wrote how much it meant to me how he would help Brandon pass the sacrament.  Scott shared how much he admired him and also their shared love of Def Leppard.

After dad had a biopsy done on his prostate they found cancer in one out of the 12 samples taken.  So they wanted to do a full body scan to see if it had spread any further.  Mom couldn't go with him today 9/20 so I said I would go.  First he had a CT scan then we had a break so he took me to lunch at Idaho Pizza which was really nice.  When we were about done eating Kacie text me all upset with how she was treated in her writing class by her teacher and wanted to drop it.  I told she would have to add another one to replace it.  After looking at other classes she finally decided it would be easier to tough it out with the same class.  After sometime has passed I think she is glad she kept it because she is starting to like the teacher.   I was proud of her for toughing it out.  Dad and I then went back for his full body scan.  You would think with all the times I have been in the hospital I would get used to this.  It was weird seeing him being the one tested.  It was discovered that he had some abnormal lymph nodes so after consulting with two different doctors I think he has decided against surgery because that would only give him a 5% better outcome but a much great risk of having other problems.  So he will be starting hormone shots and radiation sometime in November for five days a week for eight weeks.

Kacie Goes to College...

Thursday the 13th Kacie and I headed to Rexburg with Mallory to help her move in her new apartment at BYU-Idaho.  We didn't leave as early as planned because Kacie had a bad headache and some diarrhea.  I'm sure it was her nerves.  I loaded up Mom & Dad's Hylander and Kacie drove her car with Mallory.  I still can't believe this day has come. sniff, sniff!

Kacie is living in the Cedar's right across the street from the stadium so she can easily walk to all of her classes.  Her room came together pretty nice.  We had fun trying to get all her clothes to fit between her closet and under her bed.  I also got her a plastic dresser that fit good in her closet.  Her closet is on the left.  We also added the mirror for them.  We both love her roommate Ashley Adame.  She is from San Antonio, Texas.  I had a lot of fun with her mom Tracy.  We went to all the parent meetings together.  I told Tracy that her daughter was an answer to many prayers.

It's so nice they have their own washer and dryer and there is three bathrooms so Ashley and Kacie share the one pictured below.  However four roommates share the vanity area.  It was so nice of Toni Frahm to let me stay with her.  Mallory stayed with her brother Eric and his wife and kids.  Kacie went with me to Toni's for a little while and she got really emotional.  It was hard to see her like that but Toni and I both reassured her it would get better and that it is totally normal to feel overwhelmed at first.

Mom and I put together all these gifts for Kacie to open once a day for about nine days.  Cole gave her one of his sweatshirts and a long sleeve t-shirts to cuddle up to.  I thought that was cute and that was probably her favorite gift. haha!  Kacie was doing a lot better on day two.  She met everyone in her orientation group and they played games while Tracy and I went to the parent meeting.  We all joined together in the I-Center to watch a few videos about the college and to hear from the president of the college (President Eyring) plus the mayor of Rexburg and others.  The video they shared from when President Hinkley changed the college to a four year school was so awesome.  It was really hard not to keep back the tears.  He showed so much love for those students, I still get emotional thinking about it.  The kids then met with their various departments while the parents stayed and we learned about all the different programs they have to assist the students.  I was so impressed by their desire to help the students be successful in college.  It was fun to see Kacie excited about the child development department.  She said there were other girls wanting to be child life specialists so that was cool.

It was so nice of mom to offer to pay for all of us to go out to dinner together.  We had to wait in line about an hour but it is was fun getting to know each other.  We decided to take our food back to the apartment to eat.  It's so nice that Cafe Rio is walking distant from their apartment.  Only three of her roommates have moved in so far.  Pictured is Tracy and Ashley Adame, Michelle (from Texas also) & Misa Santisteban

Misa is from Kansas City so we had to get a picture of these two Kansas City Royal fans.  She is so sweet, she is also an answer to many prayers.  She is in the nursing program.  She was a little overwhelmed with how competitive their nursing program is.  The second night it was so nice of Toni to let me stay even though she wasn't there because her and a friend were going to hike up Mt. Borah.  Jocelyn was in Blackfoot with her in-laws so she came up for the night to support Kacie.  Mallory, Jocelyn, Kacie and I all stayed together, it was fun catching up.
View from Cedar's
On day three Mallory and Jocelyn went with Kacie and I to find all her classes.  It was fun seeing them together.  We walked around until about 1:00 and Jocelyn went home and Mallory went back to her brother's house.  Kacie and I went to Walmart to get some food and last minute things then she met Misa for another orientation meeting.  While she was there I took all her things to her apartment and fueled up her car for her.

When they got back I was feeling better about leaving her so I took one last picture of them and said my sad goodbyes.  This time Kacie was the one consoling me.  sniff, sniff!  I then picked up Mallory and we headed home.  From helping Kacie with everything and then being kinda emotional I forgot to fuel up my car, but luckily we made it to Blackfoot and got some fuel but, boy was it close.
It was fun to get this picture from Toni.  They made it to the top!

September 17th...the first day of college.  Kacie looked so cute and I love this picture of the three musketeers.  I think they are going to become lifelong friends.  I'm so happy for Kacie.

Roomies going to church. (:
Abigal Smith (from Santa Barbara CA), Kacie, Misa & Ashley
They had one roommate move out before school even started so there were only five of them for a long time and then Mccall Nielsen moved in.  She is from Texas too.  Michelle and Misa share a room but Michelle is going back to Texas after the semester to be closer to her boyfriend.  Abigal and Mccall share a room and then Kacie and Ashley share a room.  But because Ashley hates the cold she will only be there in the fall and them come back during the spring semester.  I think during the winter semester Misa and Kacie will then be in the same room.
So happy Kacie is enjoying school so far.
