Random Events From May...

On May 2nd Brady was able to go with Mom and Dad plus Grandma and Donna to see Escape From Germany.  Brady really liked it.  It is about how they were able to get the missionaries out of Germany during the war.  I never knew that Mom's Uncle Grant who is Grandma Alder's brother was one of the missionaries that had to escape Germany.
On May 3rd we started cleaning out our storage room.  It took us two days to pull everything out, wipe down all the shelves, organize, and put back what we still wanted.  It was disgusting how the mice had taken over, but we think we found where they were coming in so hopefully we won't have that problem anymore.  I sure hate those things.  We went through memory lane as we found all of Brandon's premie clothes and his first pair of braces.  Our storage room looks so much better.

On Sunday, May 5th, Scott made us some yummy shrimp and salmon.  He is such a good cook.
We were so excited to celebrate 14 years since Kacie had her kidney transplant.  I can still remember it like yesterday.  We have so many emotions when we think about the life that was lost for her to get her gift of life.

We found a gun safe on sale from Costco online for $799.00.  It arrived on May 15th.
Scott was pretty happy to finally have a safe place for all his guns.
On May 23rd I took a picture of my desk when I finally got my shelf decorated.    JD was so nice to hang it up for me right after I moved into his office that he shared with James Larsen.  Now there are three of us together.  It is really different for me to be working with so many men.   A funny thing is that Bailey made those cement pots for the FFA banquet when Kacie was a freshman in FFA and Bailey was a junior.  Now they made their way back to their family's onion shed.

I loved seeing these pictures of Ryan running and jumping at Weber State.

Brady and I went down to the cemetery to decorate graves with Mom and Dad on May 24th.  It was fun running into Norman and Julie.  I had to get this picture of these two working hard at decorating graves. Haha!

On Tuesday, May 28th Brady and I helped at the church orchard.  I wasn't that happy about going since I was tired from just getting back from our trip the day prior and then working all day but we went.  It even started pouring on our way over.   But I was really glad we went.  There was just a small group of us with Michael Hartley, Lance Peterson, and Cristle Stokes plus some of their kids.  We had a great conversation and we had pretty good weather until the very end then we got drenched.  They told us we had to go get a pink lady at the frosty palace in Homedale so we did.  I, however, got an orange lady and Brady got a pink lady.  They were pretty good and we would even share and then ended up trading because Brady liked the orange lady better.  We stopped at the church parking lot so we could listen to Braxton open up his mission call.  We were so excited to hear he was going to Brisbane Australia.  We had an interesting drive home in the rian and lightning.
Brady was pretty surprised to get some more graduation gifts a year later.  London Hartley gave Brady a card that she found in their car with some money in it from their family.  Then Sydney Hartley came by the house to give him this towel and money.  That was so nice of them to still remember Brady.

On May 30th Brady drove out to Farewell Bend with Mom after he got done at the food pantry.
He needed some practice driving on the freeway.  Hopefully, he can get his driver's license soon.

Memorial Weekend...

Wanda's sister Joanne hasn't been doing well so she asked us if we could drive her to Idaho Falls to spend Memorial weekend with all of her sisters.  This might be the last time they can all be together.  We left late Saturday morning.  We had lunch at Chick-Fil-A which was their first time ever eating there.  We got to Idaho Falls around 4:30 and dropped Wanda off at their Airbnb.  Not everyone was there yet.  But I got a picture of her with her sister Carolyn.  We met Cole and Kacie for dinner at Texas Roadhouse then went to their house.

We started watching The Pacific which is a mini-series on Netflix about World War II.  We watched a couple of episodes before going to bed.   The next day we all slept in a little and had a nice relaxing morning.  We then decided to go to Bear World.  I was surprised Brady opted to stay home and not go.

We took a slow drive through all the bears and then watched all the cute little cubs getting fed.  Then we found a wheelchair for Gerald so we could walk around the dinosaur exhibit, which was really cool.  We thought about riding the Ferris wheel but then opted out.  Cole found a rainbow sucker that he thought Brady should have like the ones he would get at Disney World.  It was cute with a little bear wrapped around it.  We then headed back to their house a relaxed before making us some dinner.  After we had our yummy dinner and cleaned up all the boys went for a drive to the Teton Dam.  I was happy Gerald enjoyed it so much.  It was nice for Kacie and I, to have some girl time.  We watched some Gilmore Girls episodes.

After they got back from their drive with some added climbing we went to Rigby for some ice cream.  They had some of the most creative shakes.  Scott had some kind of a mango sherbet.

Brady had a super cute Cookie Monster shake.  It was fun!  After we got back we watched some more of The Pacific then went to bed.
Monday morning Scott and Gerald went back to Idaho Falls to pick up Wanda.  We had lunch at Millhollow which is always a favorite.  It was fun to see Ty and Kim Hartley there and chat with them for a little bit.  They were visiting her family that lives in Rexburg.  After our lunch, we said our goodbyes and headed home.  We had a fun weekend.

Carolyn, Joann, Wanda, and Donna
I'm so glad they were able to have a fun weekend together.

I fell in love with this tree of Cole and Kacie's.

State Track...

On May 16th, Scott, Kacie, Brady and I got up early and drove to Eugene to watch Lindsay compete at the High School 1A Track Meet at the famous Hayward Field.  We met Steve, Kris, and Sam in Vale and we traveled together.  We stopped in Bend and ate at Chick-Fil-A.  We then drove straight to the stadium and were able to park in a parking garage which was nice.  We were worried we would miss her first race but we made it just in time.   When we walked into the stadium it was amazing to take in.  It is such a cool place.  Lindsay made it to the finals in all her races which was so fun.

This picture was taken at Harper before they all left for state.

After Lindsay was done running for the day, we went to Killer Burger.  It was so good.  Scott had a peanut butter burger which sounds really weird but it was actually good.  I had a black and blue burger and I loved it.  Kacie and I took this picture after we got done eating.  I loved all the beautiful flowers blooming in Eugene.  We then drove to Creswell where we finally got a hotel.  We couldn't believe it cost us around $500.00 for the two nights.
Scott found this pastry shop there so we had to stop and get some for all of us.  We took some to Steve and Kris.  They found the cutest Airbnb that they stayed at in Eugene.  They were really yummy but my cinnamon roll was a little dry.  We then went to the Nike store, got some chocolate then ate some lunch at Panera before going back to Hayward Field.
The second day we were sitting right at the starting line.
It was fun to get some pictures of some of the Nyssa kids waiting to go on the field.
Above is Ike Walker and below is Austin Baker.
It was fun to see so many kids from Nyssa and Adrian compete.

Lindsay had an amazing day at the track...
She got third in the 100m with a time of 12.94.

She got first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.55.

She also got first in the 300 m hurdles with a personal best of 45.46 and tied the state record.  The crazy part was she was in second place coming around the last corner but finished so strong.  She also had all her events within an hour.  She didn't even get to go to the podium to get her medals until after her last race.
And got first in the triple jump at 34' 9.5".

It was so fun to be able to support Lindsay.  We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what her future brings.

Got a cute picture of these two as we were saying goodbye.  We didn't get back to our hotel until almost midnight.  The next day we went to the Woodcross outlet mall before heading home.

This was a nice article about Lindsay in the newspapaer.
