Scott's Knee & Wade...

Scott's neck and knee have been really sore this summer, but on Monday, when we went to town to get a treat for our 36th Anniversary, he could barely walk into the store.  Whatever happened, it took the pain to another level.  We did get a strawberry-rhubarb pie and ice cream, but we weren't able to celebrate much with his sore knee.  On Tuesday, he worked half a day, then went to see Dr. Paige.  He had to wait almost two hours to get in.  He gave him some anti-inflammatory meds and referred him to Jimmy Walker.  The next day Scott was able to see Jimmy, and they did an X-ray.  He said his knee looked really healthy for a 56-year-old, so he ordered an MRI so they could see the soft tissues.  All week Scott tried really hard to rehab it and stay off of it.  I would go out to the school and help him get his lesson plans ready for the next day.

Late Saturday night, as he was lying in bed, he went to adjust his leg, and he heard something pop.  He then felt intense pain like he hasn't felt since he blew it out in football   He said it felt like a level nine out of ten, and he was not able to sleep all night.  He texted Jimmy to ask him what he should do.  He said he was on-call at the hospital and would call him on his way after church.  Jimmy's best guess was that he had a ruptured Baker's cyst.  He said they are very painful as all the fluid drains into the muscles and tendons.  He said the pain will last about two to three days.  We are so hopeful there is no other underlying condition and he can get back to work and we can still go to Disneyland in two weeks.  But he won't know until after his MRI.

I can't believe how big Wade looks in this picture.
Wade enjoying some prunes on Monday, September 1st.

Cole got this hilarious pacifier for Wade, too funny!
Wade loves to eat bananas through this cool device.
Wade has been a little clingy and fussy this week.  I'm pretty sure he is working on some more teeth.  He already got two on the bottom.
Sunday morning, I got this SnapChat...sure enough, he got another tooth coming in.

Elizabeth Sue Stubbs...

Elizabeth Sue Stubbs entered the World on August 27, 2025, at 9:04 am.  She weighed 8 pounds and 6 oz and was 20.25 inches long.  Her head measured 14 inches.

I was so busy getting ready for Brady's mission luncheon, I didn't get to see her until Labor Day, September 1, 2025.  She is so sweet.

Glad they are both home and doing well.

Well Done Elder Talbot...

Elder Talbot's last day at the Nyssa Food Pantry was on August 28, 2025.  They really spoiled him good.  They gave him a $50.00 Dutch Bros gift card and sticker, plus some cake, cookies, and a nice card with lots of sweet notes from everyone thanking him for all his service there.
On August 31, 2025, Elder Talbot did a wonderful job speaking in church about his mission.  The stake president wasn't able to release him before church, so Brady is probably the first missionary to speak before being released.   He had so many people tell him what a good job he did.

We had a really nice visit with his mission leaders,  Kent and Teresa Howard, plus President Rod Nielsen.

We had a nice luncheon at Mom and Dad's house.  Scott made some Mexican pork, and we made a yummy white cheese sauce for nachos.  Marty Hunt brought some homemade refried beans that were so yummy.  Donna brought some cut-up romaine lettuce for those that wanted to make a salad.  Mom had some black beans and sliced olives.  We also made some salsa from all the tomatoes and peppers from our garden.  Tara and Lori brought cookies and bars, plus we had a Costco cake that Brady loves.  Valeda and Melissa brought their yummy fruit salad.  Rod and Launa also brought a fruit salad.  Michele & Trevor Peterson brought watermelon.  Brady remembers when they were his primary teachers and wanted to make sure they were invited.  Michele said that made her day when she heard that.

We just missed Cole, Kacie, and Wade.  Cole had to have his appendix removed on Thursday.  We were so glad he went to the doctor when he did because if he would have waited another day, it could have burst.   Juliene completely surprised us when she showed up before church started.  She told us that on Saturday when she went to text Brady that she couldn't come because Rosie was sick and that was her ride, she saw the picture taken of the two of them at Ray's homecoming and she didn't have the heart to tell him so she just got in the car and came.  Dale told her if he didn't have to conduct sacrament meeting he would have come too.

It was fun that Weston and Tara's families stayed and played games with us.  They left around 10:30.
I feel bad I didn't get pictures of everyone, but we are so grateful for everyone that came and supported Brady.  We look forward to his future.

On Friday, September 5, 2025, Brady's zone had a funeral service for him.  They even had scalloped potatoes, ham, salad, and chocolate cake.  Brady said it was a lot of fun.  I love that they do this.  I think it is pretty unique to their zone.   I love that they even made a program and put Brady's favorite quote from Freaky and Freakier Friday.  He even included it in his talk.

Another Visit With Allen...

Allen had a stroke and hasn't been doing very well so Mom made another trip to see her brother with Dad and Josh.  It was a quick trip, but she was so glad she went.  While they were there, Dad and Josh were able to go to Cason's mission farewell and Cooper's homecoming.  We were able to watch them on Zoom which is so nice when you can't be there.

Wade's 8 Months Old...

Time is flying by so fast for this little guy.  He is already 8 months old.  I can't believe it.  He is so dang cute.  We sure love this little guy!  He loves eating baby food and rolling around everywhere.
