Oregon vs BYU Basketball

We had a lot of fun watching BYU and Oregon play basketball.  It was especially fun because #33 Issac Johnson for Oregon was playing against his brother #20 Spencer Johnson for BYU.  We were all shocked how bad BYU beat Oregon 81-49.  Oregon was even ranked in the top ten.

pretty cool!!!
We were shocked when we started watching the game the first thing we see is David Hopper!
Fun picture of them together with their sister Grace.

Calvin Hiatt's Funeral...

Scott and I attended Calvin's funeral.  Luckily we got there early enough so we were able to get a seat.  There was standing room only and they even had a video feed sent to some other rooms in the Vale church building.  The funeral was amazing.  We were all really touched by the song "Peace in Christ" sung by all his nieces and daughters.  On the very last line his daughter sang alone and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the building.  He was quite the guy and will be so missed especially by Scott and everyone at Harper.  They even shut down school so everyone that wanted could go.

Weekend at Cole and Kacie's...

Since Scott and Brady had a long 4 day weekend with Veteran's Day we decided to visit Cole and Kacie.  We left Thursday the 11th and of course stopped in Nampa for some lunch at Jimmy John's and Dutch Bros.  After we got to Rexburg the five of us went to dinner at the Hickory.  It was really good!  Later Jolene and Carriesa came by and we visited with them for a little bit.  They are helping Kacie put up Christmas the next day. They started decorating around 9:30 on Friday.  When the three of them left to get more decorations, Scott, Brady and I went to Mill-hollow for lunch.  We love eating there.  When we got back to the house I couldn't believe how beautiful all the decorations looked.  I told Kacie her home could be in a catalog it looked so good!

They left around 4:30.  It was fun to see them.  That night we ate at a Mexican restaurant there in Rexburg.  It was really good too!  Saturday Scott and Cole drove around and shot their airguns while Kacie and I made some cookies.  Later we drove to Idaho Falls and had lunch at Red Robin and did some shopping.  We stopped at a motor sports place and Scott found a really nice Ogio Rig 9800 gear bag for $135.00.  He was pretty excited.  We also did some shopping at Big Al's and Costco.  Kacie and I both got drawer organizers from Costco.  Later that evening Kacie and I picked up Taylor and we watched Jungle Cruise.  It was fun to spend some time with her.

Sunday we slept in and just relaxed and hung out plus took a few pictures before they went to church and we headed home.  It was a fun weekend!  I love it when we get to spend time with them.

Soccer, Dance and New Baby...

Rosie and Caleb went to Mesquite NV for Caleb's soccer tournament.  They stopped and saw Hanna in St. George on their way down.  They stayed with Reid and Laura's family.  Caleb's team won which is super cool!  Way to go Caleb!

Sadie has been doing such a good job dancing with her school dance team.  It's so fun to watch her!
Thayne and Kylee Schulthies had a little girl on November 6th.  They named her Oaklynn Grace, she was 6 lbs 13 ozs and was 20 inches long.  We are so happy for everyone!  This is Stoney's first grandchild!

Kaylin's Birthday & State Football...

Mom and Dad took us out to eat at Nyssa's new Mexican restaurant Las Esmeraldas for Kaylin's birthday.  We all thought it was really good and the help was really friendly.  However dad took his farm help a week later and said it was horrible so I don't know if they will survive unless things improve.
After we ate we went to Mom and Dad's and watched Nyssa/Harper play Rainier in Kelso WA at the Oregon state playoffs on TV.  Tara came over with her kids to watch too.  Nyssa lost 6-34 but it was fun watching Ryan & Howie.  It was pretty funny how we could hear Tommy over the crowd.

Orin Stipe and Ryan

I posted this picture for Kaylin.  I said Happy Birthday Sis! We sure miss you and love you dearly!  Elder Holland said, "Don't under estimate your family on the other side of the veil."  We know you are doing great work in heaven but boy do we miss you here!

Barbara Burningham...

Barbara Burningham passed away on October 27th.  She was 103 years old and still looked amazing for her age.  Her family put her in Nyssa Gardens about a year ago because she was losing her memory.  When Wanda and I went to visit her there she didn't even know who we were.  I was her visiting teacher for several years and I loved our visits.  I missed her when they changed me but I would still try to see her from time to time.  They said at the funeral that she would still kneel by her bed to say her prayers which is so amazing to me.  The family asked me to play the organ for the funeral.  I was honored that they asked me but I think they must have been pretty desperate if they had to ask me to do it! haha!  The funeral was a beautiful tribute to a wonderful lady.  I remember she loved pink and always had beautiful pink petunias and even pink floral carpet in her house.
Barbara Burningham completed her journey here on earth on October 27, 2021 at the age of 103.  Barbara was born on May 1, 1918 to Parley and Margaret Hunsaker Christensen in Elwood, Utah.  She was one of 9 children.  She married Carl Bybee Burningham on September 28, 1939 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.  They moved from Utah to Nyssa, Oregon in 1944 and opened The Doll House restaurant.  In 1961 The Doll House was demolished to make way for a new A&W Drive-In where Carl and Barbara worked side by side along with their 5 children.  After Carl passed, in October 1989, Barbara continued to work at the A&W for her son Brad until she was 89.

Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nyssa 1st Ward.  She served in numerous callings, some of her favorites being a member of the M.IA. presidency,  Primary and Relief Society organist.  She served as a visiting teacher for 55 years with her good friend Mary Mann.  Barbara and Carl served int he Boise Temple for 5 years until Carl's passing after which she worked another 17 years.

Barbara loved to golf, snow ski and travel, her favorite destination being Hawaii.  She always had a beautiful yard and loved working in her flower garden.  She is survived by her children, Lamont (Charlene) of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Tanya (Max) Turley of St. Michael, Minnesota, Brad (Brenda) of Ontario, Oregon, Christine (Del) Moody of St. George, Utah and Chip of Nampa, Idaho.  At the time of her passing she had 29 grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
I love this sweet thank you I got from her family.  It meant so much to me!

Haylie & Visit with Daniel & Rode...

November 3rd Haylie Lighten entered the MTC so Neil and Cassie brought her and they all stayed with Rosie prior to her going in.  She will do much good as missionary in Lubbock Texas.  We wish her the very best!

Daniel and Rode McCune came for a quick visit so we went over to Grandma's to visit with them for a little bit.  It was really nice getting to meet Rode for the first time.  She is from Peru and he english is pretty good.  They haven't been married that long.  They are cute!

After we got back home we found that Calvin Hiatt was in a bad car accident and was killed.  That was such a shock to everyone.  Scott took it really hard since his kids have been going out to Harper and he talked to him the same day about basketball drills.
