The Nyssa girls were playing Burns for the District Championship game so Scott and I decided to go watch them. It was really cool how they announced them at the start. They shut all the lights off and had a spotlight plus all the spectators lite up their cell phones. It was awesome! Burns played really well. Nyssa had a 34-23 lead at halftime but then Kaitlyn Wright almost single-handedly brought the Hilanders back into the game in the second half and almost won. Brooklyn Johns took an inbound pass from Malerie Long under the basket with six seconds left and made a basket which gave the Bulldogs the 60-58 win over Burns in the Eastern Oregon League championship game. It was pretty exciting!!!
I would probably safe to say it's been awhile since the Nyssa girls have won district! They have a great team and are so fun to watch!
