Today we met Rachel Johnson at the Hampton Inn to over the decorating for the reception. We left feeling a little nervous about how we are going to pull this off is Rachel's father in law passes away and his funeral is the same weekend as the wedding. I then went with Kacie to her last appointment with her urologist Dr. Bender. She will have to start seeing an adult urologist now that she is getting married and I think she would have when she turned 21 anyways. Her blood pressure was really low again so they took her off her blood pressure medicine which is nice to have one less medication. We gave Dr. Bender a wedding invitation and it was so weird leaving knowing it was out last time.
After we had lunch at Cafe Rio which is always so good. We went to the mall and got Brady some school clothes then we did some more wedding preparations. We rented some navy blue linens at Event Rental in Meridian. It cost $346.64 which was a little spendy but they deliver and pick them up at the hotel and take care of washing them after. We also went to Jimmy Johns to pay for the sandwiches for the reception. We decided to not get their chips and I got them from Costco instead that saved us quite a bit. We ordered 10 trays which have a variety of 30 (one third size) per tray. It came to $598.60 plus they will deliver them to the hotel also for only $5.00 more which I thought was worth it. We also went to Costco to get the chips and then headed home.
We later learned that Rick Johnson, Rachel's father in law passed away the evening of the 12th. He has been struggling with cancer for a while. Kacie and I went with Mom and Dad to his viewing on Sunday the 18th. They said that they had three years longer with him than the doctors expected...so sad though. It was nice to get to visit with Jason and Rachel and she was relieved when she realized she still has two weeks to get ready for the reception. I felt bad that all of this was getting put on her at the same time plus she was just asked to teach seminary. Wow talk about a super woman!
