Utah...(June 12-19)

Kacie and Brady went with Mom to Utah to help watch Rosie's boys while her and Mckinley go to girl's camp. They left after church on Sunday the 12th and stayed the week. We left early Friday morning the 17th to surprise Brady and take him to Lagoon. We also surprised Kacie by bringing Jocelyn with us. They were both pretty surprised and shocked.

Mom said Kacie was great to help entertain the boys.  They put puzzles together, swam, went to the park, colored and lots more.

After we arrived Friday we all went to see "Finding Dory"
It was a super cute movie!
On our way to the Lagoon...Brady was so excited!

We would split up at times because Brady didn't want to ride Canibal.
When I had him we rode Spider and Wild Mouse.

It was a pretty hot day so Scott was happy to ride the Odyssey with Brady so they could cool off.  While they rode I got to visit with Pam for a little bit and Jocelyn and Kacie were able to see Allison.
Gearing up to ride the Skycoaster...I couldn't believe Kacie did it! But she loved it!

We all loved Canibal except for Brady....such a fun ride!
After our fun-filled day we stayed at a hotel in Layton so we could get a early start home on Sunday to spend with family for Lindsay's birthday and father's day.
Heading home Sunday...

Big Sky Country

Scott and Ron met up with their friend Dustin Butler to go shooting and fishing in Montana June 7-12!  Scott said he hasn't done that much driving  his whole life, but had a blast!
Here he is at Quake Lake near Yellowstone.  This is a place where there was a bad earthquake that killed 28 people that were camping.  The whole side of the mountain slid down and created this lake by cutting off the river.

That's what I call Big Sky Country...this is by Miles city where they averaged about 250 prairie dogs a day...a piece! Crazy!!!

They were also able to go fishing at Fort Peck Reservoir for Northern Pike (4) and they caught one Walleye!  They were a little disappointed they were about to catch more but they still had fun.  Scott said the lake is the 5th largest in the USA.

Kacie's Fecal Transplant...

This look says it all...Praying for this girl as she undergoes a Fecal Transplant to try to get rid of this CDiff once and for all!

We got to St. Luke's Children's Hospital around 8:30 am.  The FDA only allows them to ship and administer them at the hospital and it is only approved for patients with C-Diff so far.  They sent us to the surgery area and we just kept following orders even though none of it made any sense to me.  As the nurse was getting her vitals I got a call from Dr. Thompson's office wondering where we were and shortly after he found us and they got these capsules from the freezer.  He was so cute to get a picture with her and even had me text it to him. (:

They give you 90 minutes to get them down and she got them in within 30 minutes.  About half way through she got a little nauseated so they gave her some Zofran and then she was able to finish.  She then slept for about an hour and then they kicked us out of there and said to call the doctor on Monday to let him know how she was doing.  He said she should be feeling better by that night.

Mom went with us and so after we left the hospital we went to the Nike store and mom spoiled Kacie of course but was also able to find some cute shoes for herself and then we had lunch at Zupas and then went Costco and home. She slept quite a bit the rest of the day and then Jocelyn came out and watched Zootopia with her. She got some bad stomach cramps and the only thing that really helped was a heating pad. Saturday she had more stomach cramps and all she wanted to do was sleep. By Saturday night I was starting to worry if this was going to work but then Sunday things started to turn around. She had a little more appetite, the stomach cramps stopped and she had a normal bowel movement which she hasn't had in months.  She was able to go with Mom and Brady to Utah which weren't even too sure if she would be able to go.  Praying that she continues to improve and get stronger everyday!

Flying and New Doctor...

Yesterday Kacie had more watery diarrhea so I was surprised she was up for this...but she had a blast! Bailey Peterson invited Jocelyn to go flying with his Grandpa Bob and so she invited Kacie.  They even got to fly some...I was out running and saw them fly over but they didn't see me.

So yesterday when I found out Kacie had more watery diarrhea I called her pediatrician to tell her and she started her back on the full dose of Vancomycin (500 mg 4 times a day), the maintenance dose of 125 mg 4 times a day just wasn't cutting it.  I also asked her if she could pull some strings to get us into the GI doctor sooner because we weren't scheduled to see him until July 14th.  She called me back and said she talked to his office and they would try to get her in this week.  I also called and talked to Angie, Dr. Jenkin's nurse to let them know what was going on.  Shortly after I got a call back from Angie and she said she used to work for the GI Doctor and she looked on his schedule and saw that he had a cancellation for today at 1:30 so she booked it!  She also said that Dr. Thompson was the best pediatric GI doctor in Boise.  Talk about an answer to prayers.

I picked these two up at Jocelyn's house after they got done flying.  As soon as we got there we got right in which was odd.  We loved Dr. Henry Thompson!  He knew absolutely everything about Kacie and didn't even ask us one question or even evaluate her.  He said the best thing for her would be a Fecal Transplant and suggested various ways it can be administered.  He said he thought the best way would be swallowing 30 frozen capsules but didn't know if he would be able to get them in by Friday. He was pretty excited about doing to the capsules because he has never had a kid old enough that could swallow all those pills and that he has done 100 of these fecal transplants and only had to repeat one.  Kacie wanted to get this done Friday no matter what because she wanted to go to Utah with mom on Sunday.  So he said he would try his best to get them in but if not he would do it through a endoscope.  He said she needed to discontinue the Vancomycin Wednesday morning and take a Prev-acid the next two days and she couldn't eat anything after midnight prior.  The next day he called me to let me know the capsules would be in Thursday so that was the route we were going to do which was another answer to prayers.

After the appointment the girls were joking about having a poop transplant...I was relieved I didn't have to be a donor!  We then did a little shopping at the mall and then got some food at Zupas then headed home.

New Pool...

On June 1st Scott and I decided to get the kids a pool for the summer to help keep them entertained.  We got a 14 foot one from Walmart...I think Scott was just as excited as the kids! haha!  The next day Mom and I spent a lot of time cutting out old remnants of carpet to put under it and then Friday Scott put it all together.  Saturday the 4th was their first swim of the summer!  I think they are really going to enjoy it!

Monday the 6th Scott was hot so he decided to join Brady for a swim!
Sure love these guys!!!
This photo cracks me up!!! One day we had a big wind storm come up and we needed help putting on the cover and this was Kacie's way of helping...putting up a leg to hold it while Maya fixes her hair and she texts! Haha!

More Summer Movies...

I was so happy these two invited me to go to the movies with them after work.  We saw Me Before You.  We all loved it but I was a little embarrassed with how red my nose was from crying as we left the theater.  I think they might have cried a little too...haha!

Such beauties and good friends...
After the movie I went to Robbi Wagstaff's reception with mom and dad.  It was fun to catch up with old friends and family.
Mom took these guys to see Finding Dory on June 23rd!
