Kacie's Day and Mother's Day...

Can't believe it's been eight years since Kacie's transplant.  Dr. Jenkins has been with us from the very beginning.  Kacie now only sees him once a year because he was a member of her transplant team.  When we saw him a couple of weeks ago he said because her kidney function has done so remarkably well he could foresee it lasting her whole life.  This was such good news and a shock to us because we only thought it would last about 20 years.  Words can't express enough how grateful we are to the donor and the family! We love you Kacie! Keep taking care of this incredible gift of life!

May 13th was Mother's Day...Always my Mother...Forever my Friend!
We had a nice dinner at Mom's house and then played a few games before we went in to see Scott's mom for a little bit.  Scott got me some treats from Costco and Kacie got me a really cute shirt from Maurices.  It was a really nice day!

I made these sock cupcakes for mine and Scott's ministering sisters.  I thought they turned out pretty cute.  The note with them said... This cupcake is not to eat, it was "baked" with love to warm your feet.  I hope they like them.

I had fun looking through old pictures trying to find one of me as a baby with Mom for Mother's day.  I loved the one of me looking up at her in the mirror and her looking back.

Alexz's Baby Shower

Wanda and I went together to Alexz's baby shower.  I've never been to such a nice shower before it was like attending a wedding reception.

We found out his name will be Kingston Elias Talbot named after Kevin's mission in Jamaica and Walt Disney's middle name.

Scott went with Brady to the Meridian temple to do baptisms.  They had a great time even though Brady had a little cough.

Taylor's Nyssa Prom...

I got the privilege of doing Taylor's hair and makeup for Prom.  When she walked out with her dress on she took our breath away she looked so beautiful!

I was really happy with how her hair turned out!

She is so talented at the piano...

Cuties...
Behind the scenes pic. haha!
And they're off!!!
Stacie took us out to dinner at Carl's Jr for helping her get ready then we came back to her house and watched the new Peter Rabbit movie.  Kacie went on a date to the drive-in with a guy from Parma.

Grandma Phyllis' Birthday...

While I was taking Brady to the church for Mutual he reminded me it was Grandma Phyllis' birthday so while he was at the church I bought a balloon and we took it after to wish her a happy 106th birthday in heaven.  Wanda and Gerald met us there.  While we were visiting her grave he informed us that she was born a month after the Titanic sank in 1912.  His memory is amazing!

The next morning we found out that someone vandalized over 40 graves during the night, luckily hers was not one of them.  It makes me so angry that someone would do that!

April Odds and Ends...

Kacie got to travel with Taylor and Stacie to Portland for a Pacific University Track Meet held on April 7th.  Taylor was able to run with other Paralympic athletes and one is on the USA Paralympic team.  They had a good time other that she said it was super cold.

Brady got to travel with Mom to Utah to see Kyle get his Eagle Scout on April 15th.  He had a great time.  On the Saturday prior while I was doing some yard work this pretty butterfly came to visit me and I immediately thought of Kaylin.  I sure miss her.  Later in the day I went with Kacie to a TVCC baseball game and then that night Scott and I went out to dinner at the Spread.  It just opened last January in Fruitland and we were pleasantly surprised how yummy the food was.  They have a small menu but it is kind of high end food.  It was so good.

His project was an outdoor chessboard.  He dedicated it to one of his Elementary teachers.  Way to go Kyle!

Kacie went with Stacie to watch Taylor in California at the Mt. Sac Relays April 19-21.  They all had a good time and Taylor was able to meet some other Paralympic athletes which was really cool!  I'm glad she had such a good experience there.

April 26th we were able to watch Ryan's track meet in Nyssa.  He won both of his events and has been doing really well in the hurdles this year.  It's fun to watch him.

After the track meet Kacie hung out with Madi and Mallory for Madi's birthday.  They are too cute!
Saturday the 28th Mallory and Kacie went shopping for bridesmaid dresses for Jocelyn's wedding in June.  They wanted to do it before Mallory left to work in Alaska.  They found some really pretty ones.
I thought Brady looked so handsome for his cotillion on April 28th.
April the 30th I went with Kacie to see her kidney doctor.  She saw Dr. Bender the week before but she has to see a member of her transplant team once a year so we had to go back to see Dr. Jenkins since he was in Boise otherwise we would have to go to Portland.  Thank goodness we found out he is still coming to Boise a couple of times a year.  He told us that Kacie's kidney function has been so good for the past eight years that he thinks it could last her whole life as long as she takes her medicine everyday.  That was such good news!  As we were leaving I thought Kacie should get some more practice driving in Boise so I gave her the keys unfortunately, while she was backing out of the parking spot she turned to sharp and hit the car next to us.  Our car was damaged more the other one but that wasn't fun at all!  I didn't know what to do so I just left a note with my number on their windshield.
