More January Events...

Mckinley and Sara spent the weekend with Cole and Kacie over MLKJ weekend.  Kacie said they had a lot of fun and even got pedicures one day.

Kacie got her hair done on January 25th.  It turned out really cute.  That same day Scott, Brady and I went out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse with Ron and Stacie's family and Scott's parents.  After Scott and I went to a College of Idaho Basketball game with Jason and Tawnie.  It was a fun day.

January 30th Cole and Kacie went snowboarding again with his buddy Will.  Kacie is really starting to enjoy it which is so fun for them to have something they like to do together.
All of Vaughn and Barbara's family went to Hawaii to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.  Everyone was there except Riley, Reagan, Riker, Spencer and Thayne,  Looks like they had a great time.
On January 26th after we got home from Church Kacie texted me and said she heard that Kobe Bryant was killed along with his 13 year old daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash.  We were all shocked!  Brandon was one of his biggest fans.  I remember on Brandon's 9th birthday in 2003 I made him a Laker's cake after they won three championships in a row.  His last basketball game was April 13, 2016 so he wasn't retired very long before this happened.  So sad!

Weekend Roadtrip...

Friday morning the 17th Scott, Brady and I headed to Logandale NV.  Brady has been looking forward to this for a couple of weeks now.  We arrived at Reid and Laura's house around 6:30.  We unloaded, ate some yummy Korean Beef Laura made, visited for a little bit and then Scott and Reid headed to Las Vegas to go to a Tool concert with Zac Cleaver.  They said it was really cool and unlike any other concert they have ever gone to before.  Laura and I and the kids had fun watching 3 chick flicks.  I haven't done that in a long time and really enjoyed it.  I miss having Kacie to do those kind of things with.

Saturday we slept in and had a yummy breakfast.  We then headed to the Valley of Fire.  It was really cool.  We would have spent more time there but thought we would go back on Sunday.

We did spend a little time at the visitors center.

We we got to Las Vegas we went to Sushi Fever for some yummy sushi.

Brady had pork ramen and chicken teriyaki

Ultimate Shrimp
We didn't get a picture of the garlic tuna or the crazy horse roll.  It was all so good!  After we ate Laura went back home and Reid and Hanna went with us to travel on i11.  Brady was so excited to travel on this new interstate.  On our way we drove past the new Raider's Stadium being built.  It should be done sometime this year.  It looks pretty cool.  They said that on one end you will be able to look at the strip.

After we drove to Arizona we stopped at Nielsen's Custard on our way back before going to the strip.

We had to stop at the Bellagio to watch the fountains and look at the garden.
Chinese New Year...year of the Rat I guess.

Reid was driving our car and didn't want us to have to pay for parking so he parked behind a gate across from the Bellagio in an alley.  He knew the code to the gate from parking there with his service truck so he thought we would be fine.  However when we were walking back to our car we panicked a little when we saw to cop vans parked in front of our car.  We thought for sure we were going to get in trouble so Reid walked back to the car and the rest of us keep walking a block down to have Reid pick us up.  Luckily it worked and we were able to hop in the car while he was stopped at the light. haha!  Reid said they were doing drug testing and said one cop went to follow him but when he saw him get in the car he just let it go.

Sunday we went to church, had yummy tacos and just enjoyed great company.  Later in the evening Laura made some yummy cookies and nachos.  We had a great day.

These two are so cute together!
Monday we packed up and headed home.  We were fortunate to have clear roads all the way home and arrived around 9:30pm  We had a great trip!

January Birthdays...

Sunday the 12th we all got together to celebrate the January birthdays.  We had another yummy rib roast with Yorkshire pudding my favorite.  Can't believe Tyson is 8 and Ryan will be 16.  Wanda is now 75 and looks younger than ever.   It is always fun we when get together.

Later in the week Tyson had a fun party with all his friends.
