Last Weekend of March...

Friday after work I went and picked up Brandon for the night.  He was really happy on the drive home singing to Collective Soul.  He did really well and was even asleep a little after 9:00.  He slept until 5:00 in the morning.  Scott went to Jordan Valley for the night to shoot squirrels with his brothers.  I was glad Brandon did so well.

Saturday he decided to take a little nap on my bed...haha!
As the day went on he got more worked up.  Brady and I took him back to his home around 4:00 then we grabbed some dinner at Chick-fil-A.  Scott got home late from his hunting trip.

After church, we went to visit with Gerald and Wanda for a little bit.  Cole and Kacie stopped by too on their way out to our house for lunch.  They came home for the weekend so Cole could deliver some parts for their store.  We had a nice spaghetti dinner and visited before they headed home.  It is always nice when we can spend time with them.

More Spring Break Activities...

I love getting pictures from Brandon's home.
They caught him looking at a picture book.  Then it looks like they went on a little drive.

Love that smile.
Teniele and the boys went to Utah for their spring break.  Teniele was able to meet up with some friends and EJ took the boys to see a truck.

Mom and Dad got a bunch of pictures from their mission from a mission companion.  I love seeing them so young and happy doing the Lord's work.

Oregon Coast...

Sunday morning when we were ready to head out to the Oregon Coast, Scott realized he left his wallet in Cole's pickup.  Luckily they hadn't left yet to go back to Rexburg and Cole was nice to meet us in Caldwell.   When then drove to Pendleton and ate at Wendy's.  Scott and Brady then had to get some Dutch Bros before we were back on the road again.  I forget how beautiful it gets once you make it to the gorge.  We got to Lincoln City around 6:30 and checked into our room at the Seahorse Coast Inn.  We were happy the room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the ocean.

First picture from our room.
Once we got settled in we went to eat at Mo's.  We had to wait about 40 minutes.  By the time we got to our table it was dark so we weren't able to view the ocean which was a little disappointing, but the food was good.
Scott and Brady had fish n chips and I had a bread bowl with clam chowder.
We also shared a marionberry cobbler which was really good.
It was pretty cold and rainy so we were really happy to have a room with a view.  It was pretty relaxing to watch college basketball and hear & see the ocean.  We were about 100 feet up so we just kept our curtains open the whole time which was nice too.

Monday, we had a nice breakfast at Pig N Pancake.  I had an omelet with buckwheat pancakes.  Scott had an omelet with crab and Brady had bacon and eggs.  We then went back to the hotel and Brady chose to hang out there while Scott and I went to the Outlets for about an hour.  We got a few things at the Under Armour store and I got a jacket at the North Face store.  We then picked Brady up and went to Newberg.  Of course, they had to get some Dutch Bros for the road.  Cole talked Scott into trying watermelon kiwi.
The ride was beautiful.  We then went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium.  We stayed there for about an hour.  We think that some of the shows were closed due to Covid.  But it was fun to see all the fish and coral.
Believe it or not but there are three fish in this picture.
Seahorses in honor of our hotel...haha!

Jellyfish...
The coral reefs are so beautiful I can't imagine how they would look in the ocean.

We found Dory...haha!
Crab...

These tunnels were cool to walk through.  We saw sharks, eels, stingrays, leopard sharks, halibut and more.

We tried to eat at a place by Mo's in Newport, but it was closed.

Brady was pretty excited to see the start of Hwy 20.  We had to get a picture!
Depot Bay...

I love this picture that Scott took!
We ended up eating dinner at the Dory Cove in Lincoln City.  It was good but I would say our favorite there were their pies.  We tried a sourcream lemon and coconut cream, probably the best we have ever had.
I woke up around 2am and took this picture of the moon.  The picture really didn't do it justice.  You can see the lights from two boats out fishing.  We figured there were about six out all night fishing that we could see from our room.
Tuesday Brady didn't want to get breakfast so he stayed at the hotel and had a muffin and some pop-tarts.  We on the other hand had a wonderful breakfast at Lil Sambo's. I had stuffed french toast that was to die for.  It was stuffed with sweet cream cheese.  Scott had their famous pixie pancakes with eggs and bacon.  The picture below explains the restaurant.

Last pictures before leaving.

Scott and Brady didn't want to go down the stairs so they drove around and then met me at the bottom.  I had to go down and then back up for a little exercise for the day...haha!  It definitely got my heart pounding

I found a crab shell and I didn't want to take it home so Scott took my picture with it.
The last day was the best weather and the only day we made it down to the beach.
We could tell it was also starting to get really busy so we were kind of glad to be leaving.
It was a quick but really fun road trip.
