Spring Break

It has been a busy week. Kacie went to McCall with Jocey, Mallory, Heath & Allie.  Sydney was brave enough to take them all.  They left Monday and came back Thursday morning.  They had a lot of fun skiing, swimming, coloring eggs and watching movies.  I was able to do a little spring cleaning.  We now have our walk-in closest back meaning we can actually walk in it again  haha.  I found this cute picture that Brady had made for Anita and figured I better take a picture of it for safe keeping.

We decided it was about time to have a big bonfire and burn all these medical bills that have taken over our closet.  Hope we won't need them again.  Tuesday we fasted for rain.  I have never done that when I've had to work but it was actually easier than I thought it would be.  Stacie was out of town taking Taylor to Portland for some eye appointments and I put the Paul Cardall station on Pandora so it was pretty peaceful.  Scott surprised me with some pizza, salad and homemade brownies with peppermint patties in them.  They were sinfully good with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge.

Wednesday, Scott took Brady to the Owyhee Dam for a fun father-son outing.  Scott said he never pressured him to go and so after about an hour of throwing rocks in the water Brady said it was time to go and burn boxes.  As they were leaving Scott figured he better take some photos and I'm so glad he did because I absolutely love these pictures of the two of them.  So cute!

March Birthdays

Friday the 15th Scott and I went out to dinner at Johnny Carinos' for Scott's 44th birthday.  It was fun to have a date night.
Then on Saturday I made these cupcakes for Taylor's birthday and the yummy Chocolate dessert for Scott.  We went to Ron and Stacie's to celebrate.  I thought the cupcakes turned out pretty cute.

Taylor got a crochet set and they had fun for a little while, but it was pretty cold.

Silly boys...

These girls were dying to go to the Ontario Stake Dance.  After we dropped them off we went back to Ron and Stacie's and watched a movie while they were at the dance.  "Here Comes The Boom,"  is a hilarious movie!  We all loved it!

On Rosie's 40th birthday I sent these pictures of us together via Instagram and Facebook.  Pretty fun, but I'm not sure how we got to be this old, haha!

Piano Recital March 14th

Ryan, Taylor and Kacie had a small piano recital at one of the Ontario churches.  Their teacher is Wanda Lehmkuhl and the kids really like her.  They all did a great job.

Brandon's Annual Review

We met with Tomorrow's Hope to go over Brandon's Annual Review on Friday the 8th.  It is hard to believe that he has lived there 3 years already.  It is so bitter sweet.  They said he no longer needs his sleep pap machine and in the last 30 days he has gone 19 nights with less than 8 hours of sleep.  When he is not sleeping is when I am the most grateful that he has a home that can watch him 24/7.  They also said that he has tried to escape a couple of times, but we sure miss him.  This has been one of the hardest things that Scott and I have ever had to deal with.  It is like we are mourning in a different kind of way.

After our meeting we took Brandon to get some Krispy Kremes.  You would have thought he would have looked more excited in the pictures because he sure gobbled them down fast.  He still didn't connect much with us and I was sad we were not able to take him home with us because I could tell I was starting to get sick.  And sure enough I did.  Luckily Stacie had offered to let Brady and Kacie spend the night so I able to rest on Saturday.   We rented "Here Comes the Boom"  We weren't expecting much when we got it but boy were we surprised.  I have not laughed so hard in all my life.

Saturday night Scott got sick and then Kacie came down with it on Tuesday.  Somethings are just not meant to be shared and this is one of them. Yuck!

Kacie's 1st Ski Trip

Kacie went skiing with her eighth grade class March 7th at Bogus Basin.  This was her first time and she was really nervous about it and even tried to get out of going but I convinced her to just go and have fun no matter what happens.  Needless to say I was thinking about her all day wondering if she was having fun.  They left at 6 am and got back about 6 pm.   I was so relieved when she said she had soooo much fun and even thought she did pretty good and only fell two times.  I was glad Jocey had a camera because I stole these awesome pictures from her.  Thanks Jocey!

Brady's 1st Blue & Gold Banquet

On February 28th Brady had his first Blue and Gold Banquet.  He made a really cute poster of himself and displayed his rock collection that Scott & I helped him with.

The theme was "Aim Higher."

They had paper plane contests and Scott came in second.
We also made catapults and had contests to see whose could go the farthest.
The boys look so cute in their uniforms.  Here we have Brady with Porter and Dallin.
I love what he wrote about himself...
I am big
I keep toys
I wish I could be an astronaut
I love my Mom
I dance with my Mom
I think I can play football
I really can play with my Mom
I need to clean
I should listen
I can do the dishes
I like to play in my room
I make cookies
I always ask questions

Brady's award!
It was a fun evening!

Jocey's Gymnastics Meet (Feb 23rd)

Mom, Kacie, Mallory and I were able to go see Jocey's gymnastics meet in Boise.  Brady didn't want to go so he went with Wanda and Steve to watch the Nyssa girl's State basketball game.  They won 61 to 45.  Just one of those time when you wish you could be in two places at once.   We went to Boise a little early and did some shopping and got some lunch.  Jocey did really well.  She got 3rd on the beam and 4th overall out of 10 girls in her level.  It was fun to watch her and Mom got some awesome pictures.

After the meet we got some ice cream at SubZero then headed home and dropped Kacie off at the church early for the Stake dance.  About 9 o'clock I realized that she hadn't taken her medicine so I had to run that back into her.  Luckily it worked out that Scott was coming home from his Huntington basketball tournament around 11 pm so he was able to pick her up.  Scott was so exhausted from two full days of basketball but his team did pretty good and Harper got the sportsmanship award for the second year in a row.
