Spring Break Trip...

We decided to take a quick trip to the coast for spring break.  We headed out around 9:00 on March 24th.  We stopped in Hermiston and got gas and ate at the A&W.  The drive was so beautiful and we even got to see Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson.  We had a nice little break at Multnomah Falls.   We hiked up to the bridge.  We couldn't remember being there during the spring when the waterfall has more water and mist.  It was nice that it wasn't too crowded.

We got to Lincoln City around 5:00 and we were all hungry so we went straight to Mo's.  We were surprised when we were able to be seated without a wait and we even got a window seat.   I had to document Brady eating clam chowder for the first time and actually liking it! haha!

We stayed at the Seahorse Oceanfront Hotel again.  We were a little disappointed by getting an older room and the windows weren't as big but it was still fine.  We had a nice sunset for our first night there.
Friday morning we had breakfast at Lil Sambo's.  We had a really nice server who was telling us about some hikes in the area.  We finally decided to check out Pacific City.  It was so fun to see a new part of the coast.  We were able to get there during the low tide so we were able to walk around some tide pools and see some starfish, barnacles, mussels, anemones and more.  It was so fun.

Scott saw this butterfly and took a picture to send to Kacie.  He asked her if she had been here already since it looked just like the butterflies she would draw when she was young. (:

After we walked around the tide pools we headed up the largest sand dune in Oregon called Cape Kiwanda.  It was so fun and the view was amazing.

Brady with Haystack Rock (Yes there is also one at Cannon Beach) They are both named the same! haha!

The climb was a little tough but we made it! (:

This was the view from the other side.

I decided to follow a different trail and when I realized where it was taking me I called Scott and Brady to follow me.   They thought I was crazy by the jungle they had to go through but I told them to keep coming it would be all worth it and it sure was!  Scott called me a mountain goat! haha!

We spent quite awhile here with no one around watching the waves and all the beauty.
Scott kept his eye on a rock and would watch to see when waves would completely cover it.

View of Cape Kiwanda at the base.  This was also a place where boats can unload.  After we left here and realized we were only 30 minutes from the Tillamook Creamery we decided we had to go.  We loved how it wasn't too busy.  We got some deep fried cheese curds, a grilled-cheese sandwich and tomato soup to share.  Brady and Scott also got some different flavored sodas.  We then toured the factory then waited in line for about 30 minutes to get some ice cream.  It was so yummy.  Scott got peaches n cream.  I got peanut butter and chocolate and Brady got cookies n cream and cookie dough.  While we were in line we saw the Bullard's from Nyssa which was crazy.

I had to take a picture of this wooden guy to send to mom and all her sewing buddies.  We hung out in the hotel the rest of the night and watched the waves and some March Madness.  However, we had to get some pie to go at the Dory Cove and also some McDonald's for Brady.  It was so nice and relaxing.  Saturday morning Scott and I had a little walk on the beach.  I had to get a picture of Scott before heading back up all those stairs.  After we checked out we went to the outlets for a little bit and Scott and Brady got a couple of things at the Under Armor store.  We then headed home.  I think it was the Dalles where we stopped and ate at the Dairy Queen there.  I think we arrived at home around 9:30 or so.  It was a fun trip.
