Little Get Away...

July 27th Brady and I went with Mom on a little get away.   (Kacie stayed home because she didn't want to miss the Cotillion dance Saturday night.)  We left around 3pm and first went to Brent and Berniel's house for a little visit. She had a wonderful fish fry for us and it was so fun to visit with everyone, especially Trisha and her kids since it has been so long since I've seen them. I was so sad when I realized I hadn't taken any pictures while we were there. We then made our way to Pasco and stayed at the Holiday Inn there. Thank goodness for GPS or we would never have found it in the dark.
Saturday after our breakfast, Brady and I went shopping while Mom stayed at the hotel to knit and watch the Olympics.  He was a pretty good sport.  There were a lot of cute dresses so I would take a picture and send it to Kacie to see if she liked it.  I had just about given up on finding one that she liked and was headed to check out with some things for Brady and myself when I found another one that she actually liked.  I was showing Stacie all the pictures I had taken of dresses and she said I should become a professional shopper for people that hate to shop like herself.  It was funny!
Brady's new McDonald's toy...it was actually one that he liked!
The closest thing to a waterfall that we saw on the trip...
After our shopping trip we headed up to Mesa to Jed and Diana's house for their family reunion.  We had a lot of fun on their zip line.  The first time Brady went with me and after that he went all by himself.  I was pretty surprised how brave he was.  He loved it! Jed was such a good sport to help him.

Diana and Stephanie made three quilts from Aunt Anita's shirts and gave one to Mom, Allan and Jo.  I thought it was such a cool idea!
Allan and Roma made a genealogy game which Mom loved playing.  What a fun way to learn about your ancestors.
After our visit in Mesa we started heading back home and stayed another night in a hotel.  Brady had fun swimming in their pool and it was really relaxing watching the Olympics and just hanging out.  Sunday we headed home.  It was a nice little get away from home.

July Birthdays...

July 18th -- Gerald's Birthday
I made my first carrot cake...Gerald's favorite! I was so glad he liked it!  I also made a chocolate zucchini cake which turned out really good too.  I put a chocolate ganache on top...yum.
Kacie and Tyson

July 23rd -- Joshua's 3rd Birthday!!!

We all couldn't believe Joshua on the the slip n slide...he would dive off the hill getting a lot of air under him.  That lasted until he got a bad scrape on his leg from one of the stakes...ouch!

I loved his cake...especially when he started digging in it! So cute!!! It was a fun party!

July 24th -- Dad's Birthday!!!
Owyhee Ward 24th celebration at Cow Hollow Park
Loving the KeyLime pie from Costco!!!
This was the biggest surprise of all! Reid wanted Dad to skype him when he opened his present which was a baby boy balloon.  Dad was so excited to finally have a grandson with his last name. That was so fun!!!  He will be joining the family in December.
Ever since we got back from the coast Brady has been fascinated with mom's shell so she decided to give it to him.  I didn't realize that it has been in her family since she was a little girl.  Brady was pretty happy to have it!  Thanks Grandma Sue!

July 11th Mom, Dad, Scott and I had to meet with the Idaho Health and Welfare to be interviewed to be Brandon's guardians.  (Rosie was there via conference call)  I sure think it is crazy we have to go through all of this.  We don't even know yet how much it is going to cost us.  We have to pay for our attorney plus Brandon's attorney.  Anyways I think the interview went fine.  After we took Brandon to lunch at the Golden Coral and then Dad and Scott went back to work then Mom and I took Brandon with us shopping.  It was a nice afternoon.
July 13th Scott's become quite the Bass Master...
July 17th Nyssa looked so beautiful this morning on my way to work that I stopped and took some pictures.
Entertainment while hanging out at the office...Nintendo DS...too funny!
July 18th we went to see Ice Age Continental Drift.  It was so cute!  Definitely a keeper when on DVD!  I love it now that we can take Brady to the movies and he sits through the whole movie.

After the show we went to Kiwi Loco.  The kids love to go here whenever we can...so yummy!!!

July 19th we spent the day in Boise.  First Mom and I had to meet with Brandon's attorney in regards to the guardianship.  Then we had lunch at our favorite Panda Express, then we made a couple of stops before we went to see Kacie's Kidney doctor.  That didn't go so good.  Kacie's Prograf levels had dropped down to 2.8.  The doctor said that if it went down into the low twos that she could go into rejection.   That scared us real good and the doctor couldn't stress enough about Kacie not missing any doses which I don't think is the case but taking it strictly ever 12 hours can sometimes be hard for her so we are determined to try harder.  Summers are so hard to stay on a schedule.
After the appointment we went to the mall and did a little bit school clothes shopping.  Kacie got some really cute Toms and some cute outfits from Aeropostle.

July 21st after I got done making cakes, Brady and I worked on a new marble run.  We were pretty happy with how this one turned out.
July 25th after swimming at Eldredge's pool, Brady and I went to the Ontario park for a little while.
