Brandon's Senior Prom

I can't believe that I am old enough to have a kid going to the Prom.  It was so fun that we were able to go over to Brandon's home and take pictures with him before his Senior Prom.
We had a heck of a time getting his flower pinned on right.
He was so happy, he had to have known that they were doing something extra special.

Love these two...

These two wonderful staff members took Jacob and Brandon to the Prom.  Brandon went with Patty.  Jacob is deaf and loves personal contact.  Whenever we are at the home someone is always giving him a massage either on his back or feet.  Two very special boys or I guess I should say men.

I love this picture of Brandon.

Picture of more of the staff and kids from the home.
After the dance I talked to Patty and she said they had a great time.  They stayed at the dance until 10:30 and she said Brandon did dance one and was really happy the whole time.
She also said they got some great pictures which I am excited to see.  So grateful for the kind people that work here.

Kacie's Last Day with Braces!

Kacie had to get more blood work done today so we went at 7 am to do that then we had a little time to kill before she got her braces off so we went to get some gardening stuff for a basket for Scott to auction off at his Harper dinner show.  Then we went to Super Clips to get Kacie's hair trimmed.  She also added some side bangs.  I think it turned out really cute.  Then it was time for the braces to come off!
Before and After!!!
 My beautiful girl!!!
Dr Barinaga gave Kacie the balloons and about 2 lbs of candy.  Too funny, plus she got a $100 check for not breaking any brackets.
After we went back to my work and then to Idaho Pizza Company to celebrate.  Lindsay tagged along with us.  It was quite interesting since she managed to drop her full salad plate, breadstick, pizza and then we refilled her drink and she spilled it on the way out.
Monday Kacie sprained her ankle so she didn't go back to school.  Scott went to the doctor and found out he tore his calf muscle Sunday night running into the house.  He was in Ontario picking up a brace for his leg so he picked up Kacie and they went home while I stayed at work.

Brady's Favorite Pastime!

Saturday Scott and Kacie went to Taylor's track meet in Crane.  Scott had to drive the van and Kacie went with Stacie.  Brady and I stayed home and cleaned and rearranged his room.  Later Ryan and Lindsay came out and Ryan helped him build this new marble run.  Brady loved it!

Much needed Rain...plus a Rainbow!

We have been fasting for rain and today was blessed by a little.  I thought this rainbow was really unique by how low it was.  I know it's crazy the things we take pictures of, but in 50 years from now we might get a kick out of these.  Who knows what tractors and corn planters will look like in 2063.

Brady's Science Fair Project

Brady's Science Fair Project was on gravity since that is his favorite thing to do...watching objects fall or gravity in action. (aka waterfalls, marble machines)  He showed that all objects fall the same regardless of their weight or size.

Way to go Brady! Good job!

After we got home from Brady's Science Fair, I found these two snuggled up on the couch.  It was too cute not to take a picture.
The following pictures were used on his board.

 Showing Brady what to do...

The Money Smart Family System

Tomorrow we are going to give this new system a try...hopefully we are not too late getting started!

I made these chore charts on magnetic/dry erase boards.
I also made this chart to keep track of their points.  The book had a weekly chart but I came of with this one that will work for a whole month and then I framed it so I can use it like a dry erase board.
I also designed these charts so the kids can keep track of their money in envelopes.
Well here goes...wish me luck!

WOW!!! Brandon is 19 today!

I posted this collage on Facebook for Brandon's birthday and got a huge response...Nice to know how many people love Brandon!
We took Brandon out to eat at the Golden Coral.  It was great that both sets of grandparents were able to come and also Ruben and Teniele's family.  I had to take Kacie to see Dr. Jenkins and so we picked up Brandon and met everyone there.
Some of the servers brought this dessert for Brandon and sang Happy Birthday! That was fun!

Brandon kept wanting to get into the gift that Teniele brought! So cute and he loved it!
Scott had to help with the Harper track meet and he couldn't make it so he called to wish him Happy Birthday!

A couple of the kids from his home came with two of the staff workers.
They decorated the home so cute for his Birthday!
When I went to pick up Kacie from school and give Mr. Bates a Dr. Pepper for a favor he did for me I told him it was Brandon's birthday so he printed out this picture really quick and added a little note.  Brandon and Mr. Bates were best buddies back in Elementary school.  Mr. Bates would bring Brandon back to his office and they would call out basketball line-ups to the Chicago Bulls music and talk sports.  We always thought Brandon would be a sports announcer when he grew up.
 Love you bud!!!!!

Brandon got a lot of nice gifts from the home and his family!!!  He got a lot of clothes, headphones, money, a movie, and of course some chocolate and Coke!
Mom and Dad got him a couple of games and a refurbished Playstation 2.  We thought his stopped working but it was working just fine so we took it home to keep it for him when it finally does quit.

Singing songs! Too cute!
Wow! I can't believe my miracle baby is 19 years old! Where did the time go? So grateful to have Brandon in our family even though I have to admit it is very hard at times! So thankful for the good times and for the knowledge that Families can be Forever!  Happy Birthday Brandon!  Hope you know how much we Love You!
