Spring Break!

Kacie got to go to California with her Choir group.  She left Wednesday March 26th at 5:30 pm and they drove all night long.  Then she was able to spend the whole day at Huntington Beach.  She loved it!!! She sent me a text around 3:30 that day and asked if we could move to California.  Smitty Hartley met them there and showed them some cool shops and fun places to eat along the beach.  I was so relieved to know she was having a good time.  I was on pins and needles the whole time she was gone.

Kacie is so lucky to have such great friends!

Kacie with Madison

That night they went to a Medieval dinner show.
She said that was fun too!

Friday morning they had a choir competition then they got to spend the rest of the day and Saturday at Disneyland.  They had a blast and even experienced an earthquake...scary!  She did say that it was hard at times with such a big group.  I told her it was because I wasn't there. Ha!
Such a great group of girls!

Having fun at the Bugs Life Show!
Such a cutie! I sure love her!

Our Big Project of the Week!
So I got to take Thursday and Friday off for spring break.  Brady and I managed to put together two of his marble sets called Marble I and Marble II.  I had to take a picture so I could remember how I did it for next time, because I'm sure it won't last long.  Brady was pretty excited that we finally figured it out.

 Wahooz Family Fun Zone!!!
Friday we went to Wahooz with Mom, Teniele and her boys and Kendalee and her three youngest.  We got there after 10 am and stayed until 7:30 pm.  I was so exhausted when we finally got home around 9:30 and all day Saturday.
Lea and Brady are such good friends.  Hope it lasts!
Kenda's so funny giving us a Brady grin...

I thought these two were crazy doing this since it was a little cold outside.
It was so fun getting Mom in one of these go-carts.
She said she felt a little claustrophobic though and couldn't wait to get out!
As we were finally leaving Brady realized he hadn't got a chance to play laser tag.  So we all gave it a try.  It was my first time too.
We had fun in a photo booth and so I put together this little collage on instagram.  I thought it turned out cute!  Brady got a lot of fun toys from playing the arcade, but his favorite is playing the miniature golf.

Attended Two Funerals over Springbreak

One of my favorites died on March 16, 2014, Brother Farrell Gilbert Peterson. He was born on October 13, 1930, and was a very special person in our family. He was such a great example and the most Christ-like man you will ever know. I am happy that he doesn't have to suffer anymore, but he will be missed greatly! Scott and I attended his service on March 22nd and it was so beautiful. The family all did a wonderful job. Kacie and Jocelyn helped babysit during the funeral. After the service some of our family got together at Mom and Dad's for a luncheon so that was fun to see all those that came too.

On March 29th we went to a Memorial for Scott's uncle Alvin L. Beaver. He was the husband to Wanda's sister Caroline pictured to the far left. Also pictured is Joann Larsen, Donna Christensen and Wanda.  I'm sad to say I never new Alvin.  He was a truck driver and died from cancer.

Community Service!

These two had to put in some community service hours and so I arranged for them to clean headstones at the Owyhee Cemetery. They worked for three hours and got one whole side done. Mom and Kendalee said they looked a lot better. Kacie said she had a lot of fun doing it and wants to do it every year.

Track Starts

Nyssa had their first track meet at the Ontario Ice Breaker on March 18th.  Kacie didn't do too bad for her first meet of the year.  She ran the 100m and got 11th with a time of 14.73.  Got 5th in the long jump at 13'5'' and 6th in the triple at 26'2''.  She also ran the 4x400 and they got 6th with a time of 5:10.4.

Mallory and Kacie at the Ice Breaker!
After the meet Steele sent Kacie another breakup text so Kacie was all upset again.  You would think she would get used to this.  I was glad Jocelyn was with us so she could help cheer her up.  She stayed with us a couple of nights while her parents took Allie to the MTC.  Kacie didn't sleep well and so she missed a couple of periods of schools and was very emotional all day and so she wasn't up to track practice either.  I was so worried about her that I called one of the school counselors to talk to her.  Kacie was very mad I did that but then she said she really helped her. Kacie went with Mom to take Jocelyn to her gymnastics in Nampa.  While she was at practice the two of them went to see Dee and Jeannetta Garner in the Hospital. Mom said she was really impressed with how well Kacie handled herself with them and was really engaged in the conversation.  Kacie later told me how much she enjoyed it.  This was one situation where missing track practice was better for her.  Service always makes you feel better.  I shared this quote for Kacie on instagram.  I LOVE this...so good!

Thursday March 20th, Kacie was working on hand-offs in the 4x100 and the girl ran right up on her and they got their legs tangled and Kacie did a faceplant on the track.  Her coach said it was bad but also couldn't help from laughing.  I felt bad this happened the day before her next meet.

Friday, March 21st, Kacie had a meet at Harper and Scott was in charge of the timers.  He was so proud of his door that they decorated at the school that he had to show us.  All the teachers had a contest where they were suppose to decorate their door with a college mascot.  Everyone else did big time schools and he chose the Fighting Pickles.  He is such a nut.
Kacie's leg was hurting her so bad that she scratched the open 400 and the triple jump.  In the long jump she got 5th again with 13'8" and she ran in the 4x100 and they got 3rd with a time of 57.68.  Taylor spent the night with us so she could go too.

After the meet we went to Pizza Hut and when we were headed back to Nyssa, Sydney and Jocelyn called and invited Kacie and I to the movies.  We went to see Divergent.  It was fun!  It must have been a good movie to keep me awake I was so tired.
