1st Day of School August 20th

I can't believe School is here already...

 Brady and Mrs. Bates

I was able to leave work early so I could make some cookies and be home for Brady when he got off the bus.  He seemed pretty happy about school and even got tired of all my questions.   Kacie didn't get home until later because she had cross-country practise.  She wasn't too happy about her first day but as the week went on she felt better about everything. Here's hoping for a great school year!
This is the kids after making it through their first week of school. Brady has been hanging out at his Grandma Talbot's house after school while Kacie has cross country practise. He loves their tree swing!

Brandon Visits Home Plus More...

Thursday August 16th Kacie had a really fun day...First Jocey invited her to their family party. While she was there I took Brady to get his hair cut and then shopping for school supplies and then I let him play at McDonald's for a little while until we both got too hot.   I then took  him to meet his teacher.  I think we are both going to like her a lot.  I was so glad I brought him into the school early to try to eliminate some of his fears before school starts.  We then took Kacie to her school to ask for a couple of changes in her school schedule.  She just doesn't do well with P.E. in the morning so I was happy we were able to get that worked out.  She then went to Mallory's house and was able to go with her and the Nyssa 2nd Ward up to the Owyhee Dam skiing.  I was happy she had so much fun!
Mom picked Brandon up for us Thursday night and he stayed until Saturday night. We had a really good visit with him this time.  He slept better and was a little more talkative.
Brandon sure loves his iPod...it was fun to see him so happy!

Friday I had to go to work so Mom watched Brandon for me.  During the day Kendalee and her kids came up to visit with Brandon.  That was so thoughtful of them to take the time to do that.  I just love their family!  That night Stacie and the kids came out for pizza and some fun on the slip n slide.

Saturday morning I took Brandon into Rick's to get his hair cut and get some doughnuts with Brady.  He kept asking for a glazed croissant so we got him one.  While we were at M&W one of his friends from school came up to say Hi.  Brandon didn't really say anything, but he had a big grin.  It sure made my day.  Later that afternoon I got my hair done and then we were going to take the whole family out to dinner before we took Brandon home but Kacie was feeling well so she stayed home with Brady.   He ended up playing with all his cousins that were hanging out at Mom and Dad's house.  It looks like he had a lot of fun.

It was really hard taking Brandon back this time.  He just didn't want us to leave him and would keep following us to the door.  I absolutely hate that!

Watching movies with Grandpa...what a good sport he is!

Tyson...our little office helper! He is so cute!

What a Weekend! (Aug 10-12)

I think I had my very first weekend alone since having kids. Mom still had the kids in Utah and Scott went Antelope hunting with his brothers in Southern Oregon Friday. I had Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday by myself. So Friday night I started working on a slide show for Brady's birthday coming up in October. Saturday I didn't even get dressed I just continued my project that I knew would be hard to work on with Brady around and I didn't do any cleaning either. Sunday I went to church by myself and had to tell my primary classs it would be our last week as their teacher. It was really sad, I'm going to miss them. We had a lot of fun with our lesson and I made them cookies but they still wanted a jelly belly which started the first time we taught them and it stuck ever since. They all gave me a hug and told me they would miss me, but to come visit. It was cute!  I love these kids...

We made a really hard decision to start going to the Nyssa 1st ward so Kacie could have more friends that she is comfortable with at church. We really hated leaving the Owyhee Ward but I guess you do crazy things for your kids sometimes.
Ron had the tag and shot the Antelope...it wasn't the one he wanted but I think it is still nice, but what do I know.

Scott finally made it home around 3am Monday morning and the kids got home around 5pm that day.  Later in the evening Scott and Mom made me a delicious birthday dinner.  His parents and grandma came out for a little visit.  It was a nice birthday and a very relaxing weekend;)

Utah Olympic Park

Day 4 Aug 11th...
First they all went to a parade and then it was off to Park City to enjoy the Utah Olympic Park.

It was so cool that they got to watch some ski jumpers train.  I was so jealous that I wasn't there.  I was told that they put bubbles in the pool to help remove some of the impact of the water when they land.

Saved the best one for last...Mom is hysterical!!!

Mom spoiled all the kids again and got them either T-shirts, sweatshirts or stuffed animals from the park.  I'm sure this meant a lot more to the kids since the summer Olympics are going on.  Kacie loves watching the gymnastics and track and field.

Looks like an awesome day!!!!
