Little of This and That...

On April 13th before I went to Boise to drop off Mom and Dad's car I went to get another reference for my unemployment.   I had planned to go into an insurance office but then at the last minute decided to go into Simpli Balanced and talk to Tawni Maxwell about a job.  To my surprise, she asked what I was doing there and I said I'm looking for a job.  She was so happy I walked into her office because she had been praying to know who she was going hire because she was in desperate need of more help.  We agreed to have lunch the next week so I met with her on April 18th at Mama J's and we had a wonderful lunch and I was super excited about my new opportunities.  She said I could start in May.  I really felt like I had been guided to her office and she felt the same way.

On April 26th Stacie and I had lunch together at Mama J's and we shared a pizza.  We had a great time catching up.  It is so weird that we don't see each other every day anymore.  We hope to continue having lunch on a regular basis.

This was our pizza, and it was really good!
On April 27th I helped Mom plant her flowers

I planted some mint in containers near my raised garden beds.

After I got done I went over with Scott to Boise so he could have a bump on his head removed.  It took a little longer than we both planned and he was surprised how intense it was.  He thought he would feel up to going out to eat after and do some shopping but that wasn't the case.
Because your head bleeds so bad he had to wear this tight wrap on his head for a couple of days.  He didn't feel very well for a while but once the wrap came off he felt a lot better.  He had to return later to have the stitches removed.

Jury Duty & More Backyard Cleanup...

I had jury duty in the month of April and I had to go in on April 17th.  So the only day I end up having to go in I ended up on the trial.  (That is just my luck!) I felt so bad for the victim.  He was a truck driver that was in a car accident and the woman in the other car ended up dying and he went to prison for it.  Well, he was eventually found innocent but his roommate thought he still needed to die for killing that woman so he literally tried to beat him to death.  He beat the guy so bad that he lost the use of one of his arms and had a bad limp.  He represented himself and all he wanted to do was blame everyone else and say that the correction officers were just trying to find a victim.  We found the guy guilty but not until after we had to convince one of the other jury members.  There seems to always be one that makes it so you don't get home until after 6:00 when it could have been around 3:00pm.  She didn't think he was guilty because no actually saw him do it.  But we told her they were the only ones in the prison cell and we weren't charging him with murder just attempted murder.
Scott helped me put in newer straw around the well house.
It looks so much better.
I took down more of the fence.

Ryan and Marti Hunt brought in a little tractor and helped up till up all our sod so we can plant new grass.

It took me a couple of days to clean up all the junk on the outside of our fence.  It looks so much better.

Brady's Senior Prom & A&W

We had to take Brandon home fairly early Saturday morning so then we could get back to take Brady to Vale to ride the bus to Praire City for his Senior Prom.  He looked so handsome I must say! (:

The four seniors...Brady, Wyatt, Ryker, and Bennett...
Scott and I did some more cleanup around the yard then we went to A&W for some dinner.  As we were getting ready to leave we saw a Nyssa Police Officer stop a young man on a motorcycle in the A&W parking lot.  I remember thinking how nice the cop was as we were watching him smiling and even laughing with the kid.  The next day we learned that the same officer, Joseph Johnson, 43, was fatally shot after a car chase only about 20 minutes after we saw him.  We felt so bad for his wife and family.  It was weird to think we were one of just a few that just saw him before he died.  So, so sad!

We picked up Brady around 3:00am in the morning at the Vale bus stop.  He said it went okay.

Lindsay's Bear...

We were pretty shocked when we learned Lindsay shot a bear.
She sure picked a pretty spot to take pictures. haha!
Way to go Lindsay!

Brandon's 29th Birthday...

On April 13th Gerald and Wanda helped me take over Mom and Dad's car to the Boise airport around 4:00 since their flight comes in so late.  We then went to Costco and then to pick up Brandon for a couple of nights.  I love when he is in a good mood.

Friday the 14th we had a small party for Brandon's 29th Birthday.  I can't believe he is that old already.  We had pizza, salad, and cheesecake.  I was so happy to get the picture below before he started getting worked up.  You would think with just his grandparents he would be okay but he still got agitated.

Mom and Dad brought us all T-shirts from Hawaii.

I thought it would be nice for him to have a picture of Jesus in his room and I found this one on Amazon and fell in love with it.  We also gave him the big pack of Coke Zero, two hats (one is Blink-182) a shirt, and a sweatsuit plus some sweets of course.

It was nice having him home with us and overall he did pretty good.
We sure love you, Brandon! Happy Birthday!
