Uncle Vaughn...

On September 21st Uncle Vaughn went to the hospital because he wasn't feeling well.  While he was there he had a heart attack from his blood sugars being over 600.  They were able to revive him and they life-flighted him to Boise.  There he was put on a ventilator and an induced coma.  When they brought him out of the coma they discovered that the heart attack caused a stroke and the right side of his body was paralyzed including no sight in his right eye.  On Friday, September 25th the family was able to have a zoom call and finally see him.  It was so nice that they invited dad to be included.  They were able to talk to him and Tommy gave a beautiful prayer.  The next morning the doctor was able to talk to Uncle Vaughn and he was able to tell the doctor that he wanted to go home.  The doctor said his heart wasn't strong enough but he still wanted to go home.  The doctor only gave him a few days to live.  So Saturday they brought him home to be with his family.  That night they invited Mom and Dad to see him.

One of the first things he wanted was shaved for his sweetheart.
These pictures with dad are so tender...

Sunday they invited all the family that could come see him and say their goodbyes.  Brent Hartley came with Taryn and Dedre.  Brent, Elaine, Jason & Brooke came together.  I was able to go over with Brady and Kacie for a little bit before she went back to Rexburg.  Almost all of Vaughn's family were there and Launa came over too.  It was so sad, but nice to see so much family together.  Preston and Travis were able to call and say their goodbyes also.

I love these cousins of mine!

Monday I had to run to Ontario to do some follow-up blood work on my cholesterol.  Once I got done I went to Albertsons and got some stuff for sandwiches plus some fruit and chips to take over for everyone.  When I got home I made a double batch of peanut butter bars.  On my way home I started talking to Kacie about everything going on then as I was baking Rosie called and I was able to add her to our phone call.  I just recently learned how to make three-way calls which is super cool.  While we were talking then mom called and told us all that Uncle Vaughn had passed away and she was really emotional and said she didn't know where dad was and asked if I would call and tell Reid.  Right after she hung up Reid called me and I added him to our call.  (we thought he must have heard but hadn't yet which is amazing he called just then)  I then decided to go with Mom and help her find dad.  I kept Kacie, Rosie, and Reid all on the phone with me while we went to find dad.  We drove around the farm and then went back to the house.  Dad and Teniele showed up right after we got back.  We were all able to be together via the phone which was a tender moment.  I then finished frosting my bars and I went over with Mom and Dad to take them all the food and try to be of some comfort.

This has been so hard...Twins aren't meant to be apart...

When we got back to the house dad asked me to take these pictures...

Joe & Jolene sent this beautiful arrangement...
So cute with the tractor...

Cole's Birthday...

Cole and Kacie were supposed to go camping with some friends but when they canceled on them they decided to come home for the weekend and ride razors with his family and friends.
Kacie posted this cute picture of him and I posted the pictures below for his birthday.

On Saturday Scott had to get a tire fixed at Discount Tire in Nampa.  He rode over ahead of Brady and I.  We stopped by to see Jocelyn at her drive-by baby shower.  She looked so cute pregnant.  We visited for a little bit then went over to meet Scott.  We got some dinner, went to Costco and of course Dutch Bros then we picked up on his pickup and headed home.  Sunday we were able to see Cole and Kacie and have lunch with them before they headed back home.

Cole & Kacie Visit + Madi's Shower...

It was fun to spend some time with Cole and Kacie over the weekend.  On our way to Ontario to get some dinner, we stopped by Madi's driveby bridal shower.  She looked really cute...we are so happy for her.  We got some Panda Express to go and of course some Dutch Bros.

We gave Cole his birthday present early just in case we don't see him on his actual birthday.  We got him a really nice cooler.  We were happy he liked it!

New Chair, Mani's, Pedis and Hair...

On September 15th I got my hair done by Jaylene Udlinek.  I think we figured out I have been going to her for 25 plus years, so crazy.  After I got done I stopped by Eldredge Furniture to check out their Lazyboy recliners.  They had the same recliner on sale that Rc Willey had for $849.99.  Rc Willey wanted around $1400 plus tax so I bought it.  Scott and Brady picked it up after school.  It worked out good because they had the pickup with them.  We bought our last one at Eldredge's when Brady was born so it is looking pretty bad.  This one is a little smaller but the leather will be nice and it is really comfortable.

Kacie's nails are so cute and she got her hair done super cute too!

On September 16th I had the day off so I could take Brady to get a cavity filled and then get new bands on his braces.  After we got home Kendalee text me to see if today would be a good day to get pedicures.  I suggested it to her after Harlen's funeral that we should go get them again soon.  We went to Happy Nails in Ontario.  I thought they did a good job.  I bought her pedicure and then she bought us some drinks at Dutch Bros after.  We had a good visit....it was fun!  I still can't believe Harlen has graduated from this earth.
Kacie sent this Snapchat to me one night...I thought it was too cute!
Kacie is so dang cute!

Brady's Patriarchal Blessing...

About two weeks ago Brady was scheduled to get his Patriarchal Blessing but we thought that Scott and I had been exposed to Covid-19.  We went out to dinner with Steve and Kris on a Friday night and then the following Monday found out they all tested positive.  We never had any symptoms so we lucked out and never got it.  However, to be safe we rescheduled to today.  Brady received a very special blessing.  In fact Patriarch Ballantyne asked Brady's bishop who is Weston Schulthies if he had read Brady's blessing and suggested he read it because it is very unique from a lot that he has given.  We are so excited to get it and read over it.

31st Anniversary...

We had a reservation for Friday, September 4th at the Anniversary Inn but had to reschedule to Friday, September 11th because of Harlen's funeral.  We got a reservation at Brick 29 in Nampa at 5:30.  We were so glad we did because the food was soooo yummy!
Scott got the beef shank with squash and mashed potatoes and gravy.  He loved it!
I got the red rockfish with coconut rice, green beans, and mango salsa.  I have never had anything this good before.
We shared this lavender cheesecake with citrus sauce.  We didn't even know you could eat lavender but boy was it good too!  We then headed over to Anniversary Inn.  We got the Romeo and Juliet room.  It was really nice.  We had a nice relaxing night.  The only bad part was Scott's upset stomach.  We think it was from eating too much at Brick 29, haha!  He was feeling better by the next day.

Saturday we went to RC Willey to look at their recliners.  We decided to think on it before we get one.  We then went to Costco and headed home.  It was a great weekend.
I bought these keychains from Etsy for Cole and Kacie and then Scott and I.  I thought they were cute!

Throwback Pictures...

We found these fun throwback pictures while going through albums looking for pictures for Grandma Joan's slideshow that I have been working on for her 90th birthday.

I'm thinking these were taken either before or after we were engaged.  (1988-1989)
Taken at Kaylin's funeral May 2000
Taken when I was the Junior Homecoming Princess 1986
Singing Sisters from White Christmas back in the 90's I'm guessing.
