Yellowstone, Snow King Resort & Grand Tetons...

On July 23rd Scott, Brady and I headed to Rexburg.  Of course we had to stop at Dutch Bros in Nampa to get a drink on the way.  We also got some Jimmy Johns for lunch.  We met Cole and Kacie in Idaho Falls around 6:30.  Cole wanted to show Scott a gun shop there before we got some dinner at the Outback Steakhouse.  We then went back to their apartment in Rexburg.  They are so nice letting us stay with them while we go on day trips to Yellowstone and the Tetons.

Upper Mesa Falls!
Cole had to work Friday so the four of us drove up to Upper Mesa Falls.  The drive was beautiful and the Mesa Falls were even more breathtaking.  On our way back we stopped at the Frosty Palace in Ashton to grab some burgers and shakes.  It was delicious!

That night we went to a Mexican restaurant in St. Anthony.  Cole gave us a little tour of the town then we went to a park there on an island of the Snake River.  We walked down by the river and threw some rocks and enjoyed the pleasant weather.  We had to get some dessert at the Arctic Circle before heading back to Rexburg.

Yellowstone
Saturday the five of us drove to Yellowstone.  We had a long wait at the gate getting in which was frustrating and we couldn't believe how crowded it was.  We stopped first at the Grand Prismatic Springs.  We couldn't believe how beautiful it was.  We then headed to Old Faithful.  We got stuck in some bad traffic again because of construction.  Once we finally got there we stopped and had a little picnic before walking around.  We were told the next geyser would go off at 4:47 so we had about 45 minutes to check out some of the other sites.  As we were heading back we could see a storm coming in.  The geyser went off exactly at 4:47 but about half way through it a ranger came by talking about lightning and the risk of staying.  Scott didn't want to get wet to we headed back to the car.  We made it back just before it started pouring.  As we were leaving we thought we could drive to some of the other sites but it just kept pouring so we headed out to West Yellowstone.  There we did a little souvenir shopping before heading back to Rexburg.  Cole grilled up some yummy kebabs for us to eat.

Snow King Resort & The Grand Tetons...
Sunday we drove to Jackson WY.  The drive was so beautiful.  Our first stop was at Snow King Resort.  We did the Cowboy Coaster which was a lot of fun and then we rode the chair lift up to ride the Alpine Slides.  I went along side Brady and about half way down he flipped out of his slide.  Luckily he was able to get back on but he got pretty scraped up.  I went with him to a first aid station and we were able to get his wounds cleaned.  The pain from the antiseptic spray hurt him so bad he started sweating and getting nauseous.  The guy gave him an ice pack for his head and finished putting bandaging him up.  We then played some miniature golf which was a lot of fun.

Picture of Brady after getting all fixed up...
Kacie and I both got a hole in one on the same hole, then Brady got a hole in one.

After driving around town to find a place to eat, we decided to go back to the Resort to eat there because we knew we could get a parking spot. haha!  We then drove to the Tetons and took a little hike to see Jenny Lake.  Oh what a beautiful sight!

Cole said, "Senior Pictures!" haha!

We were frustrated about the haze around the mountains, but they were still beautiful.

I was a little disappointed we didn't get to walk around Jackson and do a little shopping but we did stop in Victor and got some ice cream and Brady found a Teton Valley shirt he liked.  I love this picture we got of Scott...too funny!  After we got back to Rexburg we ordered some Pizza Hut which really hit the spot.
Yellowstone...
Monday morning we had planned to head home after Cole and Kacie left for work and school, but then around 8:00 Kacie came in and said she wanted to go back to Yellowstone since we didn't get to see everything because we got rained out on Saturday.  So we hurried and got ready and went back.  It wasn't near as crowded but we still would get stuck in traffic from time to time.  We stopped and viewed Gibbon Falls, Artist Paint pots, Upper & Lower Yellowstone Falls, Mud Volcano, Yellowstone Lake & more Paint pots and geysers.

Spasm Geyser...
The only animals we saw were buffalo and some antelope.
We didn't leave Rexburg to head home until about 7:30pm and of course we had to stop in Idaho Falls to get some Dutch Bros and then we got some dinner at Wendy's in Pocatello.  I drove all the way home since Scott drove all day in Yellowstone.  We got home about midnight.  It was a fun trip and it was even better that we got to enjoy it with Cole and Kacie.
These are the pictures I wanted to capture...haha!

Brady's wounds...The day after we got back Brady had a doctor's appointment with Dr. Thornfelt for his acne and a mole he is watching.  It worked out good because he prescribed him some cream for his wounds.
