Introducing Tyson Kent Talbot

Tyson was born January 15, 2012 around 11am. He weighed 5 lbs 13 oz and was 19 inches long. Yesterday he was given a name and a blessing by his father, Ron. Saturday Ryan was also baptized and confirmed by his father. It was a special weekend for their family.

After church we visited with Anita for a little bit then we went to Scott's parents house for a wonderful dinner and then stayed to watch the SuperBowl. The Giants won 21 to 17 over the Patriots. I was happy but not everyone in our group was. Kacie went to McCall with Jocie on Saturday and got back late Sunday night. She had a blast, they played in the snow saw all the snow sculptures and watched the game also. She couldn't stop talking about all the fun they had when she got home. Oh and I forgot to mention we managed to buy a new car on Saturday. We decided that our 2007 Acura TL that we had for only seven months was just too expensive for us to own so we traded it in on a 2012 Honda Civic.

Kacie's YW's New Beginnings

We had a special evening at the Owyhee Ward's New Beginnings on January 25, 2012. The theme was Fireworks and the YW leaders did an amazing job. It sure put all the stuff that we did while in YW's to shame. The girls did a really cool impromptu dance to Katy Perry's Fireworks song. I was so proud of Kacie for doing it too. Donna, Sharon & Tara spoke along with a couple of the girls and Bishop Hartley and Jen Nelson from the stake YW's. Tami also sang a song. They all did great.
There is seven new girls coming into young women's this year and I think five are graduating. Kacie is currently the Beehive President.
I was so happy Tara had a camera because it didn't even cross my mind to bring one. I was also glad that Scott was able to make it because his basketball game got done early and he wasn't feeling well.
YW leaders: President Donna Suell, Brett Wagstaff, Kia Bowns, Rebecca Hansen, Tara Rushton, Michelle Dudley and Sharon Berrett (Kacie's leader).

Kacie Helps Make A Wish Foundation

We just got word Tuesday Jan 10, 2012, on how Kacie's artwork did for a fundraiser for the Oregon Make-A-Wish Foundation. Back in September they asked if Kacie would draw a picture from her Make A Wish trip. Well they liked it so much that hers was selected to be framed and sold at an auction. Her artwork made $300. We were pretty excited! Way to go Kacie!

2011 Family Pictures

Scott's brother Steve took the pictures for us after conference in October. It is always an adventure when we attempt family photos. LOL!

The Talbot Lighter Side...

We were all trying to smile like Brady...
Scott did this one time and Brady didn't want him to stop.

Double V Reunion

Our Double V reunion consists of Van & Vaughn's families. I pretty sure everyone was there which I think was about 63. We started Thursday the 29th. Becky, Tara & Teniele's families were in charge and they served a very delicious breakfast and then we hung out and played games. It was great to see everyone.

Friday we went down to the church and had lunch and worked on our service project. Valeda, Juliene and I were in charge of lunch and we had sloppy joes. Our service project was providing hygiene kits and a gift for all the kids that live in five of the different group homes where Brandon lives. It was a really neat experience for everyone. There were about 33 kids and so we divided them so each family had either 2 or 3 kids to give to.
Only kids that were 8 and up went to deliver the gifts. I hope they learned some valuable lessons.
Brandon was excited to see us. I felt bad when we had to leave and he wanted to go with us, but I knew he would not be able to handle the large & loud crowds.
Brandon got a six pack of coke and a coke T-shirt. He immediately had to crack one open.

Friday night we all gathered back at Mom's house for dinner, more games and those that delivered to the homes shared their experiences. Rosie, Wade, Sheree & Logan had some yummy soups for everyone.

We all couldn't believe that Brielle was able to sleep through all the noise & chaos. There were kids throwing streamers and blowing on horns to start bringing in the New Year.

Scott & Reid had way too much fun with the blowers. They could have called in a flock of geese. On Christmas Eve Mom fell and threw out a rib and has been in an extreme amount of pain. However, she was laughing so hard at Scott and Reid that she managed to pop it back in. All day Sunday she was doing a lot better until late in the evening she was laughing and popped it back out again. :(

Laura & Sadie

Saturday all that wanted to go shooting did then we went to the church to play volleyball and have dinner later in the evening. Weston, Stoney & Reid's families were in charge and they served yummy tacos. After dinner we had a little spiritual meeting and then Scott shot off some great fireworks to bring in the New Year. Sunday we all went to church and then had another dinner at Mom's. We then sat around and looked at pictures from past reunions. Then we cleaned up some and then played more games. Some then went home and a lot stayed late into the evening. It was so good to see everyone
