5th Grade Field Trip to Cove

So this is our group...Infinity, Callie, Toby and Brady...We ROCKED!!

Waiting to ride the train into Sumpter...

It was such a pretty view.

Once we got to Sumpter we had a crappy sack lunch then they took us through this Dredge and the Sumpter Museum.  We also learned how to pan for gold and did a nature walk to learned about beavers.

It was interesting to learn that Sumpter was a big booming town before it had a fire on August 13, 1917.  After that it became pretty much a ghost town.

The first night they sang around the campfire and had s'mores.
 Our trip itinerary...
2nd day we headed to EOU and they divided us into small groups and had the football players give us a tour of the campus then we had lunch and played at the park for a little bit.  All the adults played Duck, Duck, Goose, it was pretty funny. Then they all went swimming for a couple of hours.  Brady had fun going down the slide.
Mom was really good to take Kacie to the kidney doctor while I was gone.  This is what Kacie sent on snapchat so I guess it went pretty good. (:
The Cove campground had a fun miniature golf course that Brady loved.  The 2nd night they let the kids watch "Sandlot" and gave them cookies and milk.  Other than the sack lunches all the food was pretty good that they feed us.
Day 3 we packed up, cleaned the campsite and then they took them on a nature hike at Catherine Creek and had some people from the BLM talk to them about animals and fighting fires.

I think all the kids had a great time and it was fun to see some of the really quiet reserved kids talking and laughing by the end of the trip.  I was also glad to meet some new friends as well.
After we got home Kacie wanted me to take her to Treyton Davila's soccer game in Ontario so she could ask him to Nyssa's Homecoming.  She was so nervous, but happy when he said, "Of course."  I thought they were really cute.
