On May 16th, Scott, Kacie, Brady and I got up early and drove to Eugene to watch Lindsay compete at the High School 1A Track Meet at the famous Hayward Field. We met Steve, Kris, and Sam in Vale and we traveled together. We stopped in Bend and ate at Chick-Fil-A. We then drove straight to the stadium and were able to park in a parking garage which was nice. We were worried we would miss her first race but we made it just in time. When we walked into the stadium it was amazing to take in. It is such a cool place. Lindsay made it to the finals in all her races which was so fun.
After Lindsay was done running for the day, we went to Killer Burger. It was so good. Scott had a peanut butter burger which sounds really weird but it was actually good. I had a black and blue burger and I loved it. Kacie and I took this picture after we got done eating. I loved all the beautiful flowers blooming in Eugene. We then drove to Creswell where we finally got a hotel. We couldn't believe it cost us around $500.00 for the two nights.
Scott found this pastry shop there so we had to stop and get some for all of us. We took some to Steve and Kris. They found the cutest Airbnb that they stayed at in Eugene. They were really yummy but my cinnamon roll was a little dry. We then went to the Nike store, got some chocolate then ate some lunch at Panera before going back to Hayward Field.
The second day we were sitting right at the starting line.
It was fun to get some pictures of some of the Nyssa kids waiting to go on the field.
Above is Ike Walker and below is Austin Baker.
It was fun to see so many kids from Nyssa and Adrian compete.
Lindsay had an amazing day at the track...
She also got first in the 300 m hurdles with a personal best of 45.46 and tied the state record. The crazy part was she was in second place coming around the last corner but finished so strong. She also had all her events within an hour. She didn't even get to go to the podium to get her medals until after her last race.
And got first in the triple jump at 34' 9.5".
Got a cute picture of these two as we were saying goodbye. We didn't get back to our hotel until almost midnight. The next day we went to the Woodcross outlet mall before heading home.
This was a nice article about Lindsay in the newspapaer.
