Las Vegas...

On Friday, October 21st Scott, Brady, and I headed out to Logandale, Nevada.  We arrived at Reid's house around 9:30.  Chad was there to greet us.  We played table tennis with him until Reid, Laura & Brielle got back from a volleyball tournament.  Sadie got home a little later from a football game.  We had fun visiting for a little while before Brady and I went to bed.  Reid and Scott however stayed up until 3:00 am catching up.
Saturday they had to leave early for the volleyball tournament.  We left around 11:00 for Las Vegas.  We got lunch at Raising Cane's.  It was so good!  We then drove down to the Hoover Dam bridge.

We couldn't believe how low the water is at Lake Mead.

We had to stop at Nielsen's Frozen Custard.
We then made our way to the Bellagio.

We were there just an hour so we didn't have to pay for parking.
It was so windy we really didn't want to stay any longer anyways.
We then went to Resorts World.
This was pretty cool to watch it change its graphics....

They tore down the Stardust to build this huge resort.
I believe it cost 4.3 billion dollars to build and it has 40 restaurants.

We each ate something different at the world food court.  Brady got brisket, Scott got a chicken rice bowl and I thought I would try Pho.  I think I went a little too exotic because I didn't really like it.  We then got Brady a Katy Perry T-shirt and hung out waiting for the show to start.

When the show started we had so much fun watching Brady get so excited singing the songs.  Scott and I both agreed this was one of the best-sounding concerts we have ever been to plus the lights and colors were amazing.  Katy Perry is quite the entertainer.  She performed for two hours and the concert was split up into five acts.  The first act was in a playroom and she was a little barbie doll surrounded by huge toys as props.  In the second act, she was taken to the bathroom and the boy brushing his teeth knocked her into the toilet.  She came out of this huge toilet dressed in bubbles and there was even a poop puppet singing with her.  It was pretty cute.  The third act was in the garden and she was a mushroom.  In the fourth act, she was put in a garbage can and came out wearing recycled pop cans.  The fifth act reminded me of Las Vegas.  Her encore was fireworks and her voice was incredible because you could just focus on her without all the big production and dancing.  It was all so good.  Brady was pretty cute when it was over and kept thanking us over and over and said we were the best parents ever. (:

Our drive home was interesting because they lost power in part of the city.  It was so weird to be driving with it so blackout.  Because it was so windy and dusty we promised Brady we would take him back to the Bellagio the next day after church.  It worked out good because they had to leave to take Brielle to get her patriarchal blessing.  Reid told us about this new place called Houston's Hot Chicken so we went there before going to the strip.  It was so good.  Pictured below is my chicken salad.  I don't know if I have ever had such tender chicken.  We spent another hour at Bellagio.  The view of the city was so much better without all the wind and dust in the air.
Mom made their family the cute Halloween cozy bowl and filled it with candy.

Chad was buried in there somewhere....
Cute picture of Sadie with the quilt mom made her.
Monday everyone except Chad left super early.  He was so cute and offered to make us some eggs.
I'm impressed by how independent he is.  We left around 8:30 which made the trip back home a lot nicer not getting home too late.  It was a fun trip!
